New rules from later this year!

“The United Kingdom is changing the distinguishing sign that it had previously selected for display in international traffic on vehicles registered in the United Kingdom, from “GB” to “UK”...this change will take effect on 28 September 2021.”

      Hi

From 28th September the GB will change to UK

I am trying to find the UK Gov announcement but the RAC have it here

The term UK could of course be completely meaningless if the Scottish go independent.

My I.O.W home briefly and unsuccessfully called for independence many years ago, but I still (illegally) display their flag on my numberplate, which may mystify the average Gendarme... not that I consider he'd give a toss as he's writing out my fine!

If you read the directive. You don’t have to change your plates. All you have to do is display a UK sticker on the vehicle if going abroad if yore current plates are GB ones. So not much different to the requirement to display a GB sticker like we used too before Euro plates  8):)
