Re: Ordered a new 2015 RT - yesterday
I have now these 3 months about 14.000 km on a variety of roads and conditions, but mostly loaded and two up. I will give the RT 9 out of 10 - and that is not bad to be me ^-^ The only thing I still struggles with are some hesitation/vibrations in the 2.500 4.000 rpm range. I’m quite confi...

The original BMW repair kit !richardbd wrote: Crikey Steinar, that's a big one!
What tyre repair kit did you use?
Tested it one time before on a small tiny nail - worked perfect for the rest of the tire-life.
But was unsure on this kind of rather big repair.

Nail in the rear tire
Om my way home from Austria (fully loaded) - in Sweden - 350km from home - I got an error message from the tire warning system. Dropping rather fast - Hmm - but for some minutes ago - I saw a sign for a petrol station in few km - and a quick look on the GPS - I found it would be there in ...

Re: Alarm battery condition ??
Whilst my handbook shows how to select the different readings (residual range, average speed, etc.) it gives no method of accessing "settings". My bike is a 2005 model on-board computer so would it have that facility? sorry - I was assuming later models. I will look into the 200...

Re: Alarm battery condition ??
STeinar, you've lost me - are you talking about "settings" accessed through the remote fob or through the on-board computer? Forgive my ignorance, I'm still finding my way around the bike. (The old Pan was much less complicated). Cheers Using the setting from the on-bo...

Re: New BMW forum
STeinar. I agree with richardbd in that I like that this forum is RT specific. I am also a member of UKGSER. My idea ... The forum would be as it is today - only difference for you would be to access the r1200rt forum the URL would be r1200rt.my-mc.com or my-...

Re: New BMW forum
Not so sure how well this would go STeinar. Here in the UK we already have UKGSer, which covers all BMWs, not just the GS. I bet many of the UK members on here are already UKGSer subsribers too - I know of several for sure. For me, the benefit of this forum is that it's RT speci...

Re: Alarm battery condition ??
Call up the Settings menu and select Vehicle - Alarm syst.; select Automatic - On: Antitheft alarm is activated automatically when the ignition is switched off. Activation takes approximately 30 seconds to complete. Turn indicators flash twice. Confirmation tone sounds twice (if programmed). Anti-th...

Re: 'Slipping' or grinding felt through footpegs - 2015 1200RT
Remember there will always be difference between bike to bike. Everyone was laughing to me when I was writing about my fist transmission on the 1600 - that I felt it was terrible. Others out there did not have the same feeling as I did. Then I was able to try another 1600 and found that this one was...

Re: 'Slipping' or grinding felt through footpegs - 2015 1200RT
Good information STeinar, but it would appear from the lack of response that nobody else is experiencing this phenomena. Or that all RT users are so used to this from the start ;D Or it could be that this engine has a bit more than usual. Wrong air filter / bad petrol / wrong tork setting...

Re: 'Slipping' or grinding felt through footpegs - 2015 1200RT
All engines has vibrations and resonances. They are using different methods to compensate for this like balance shaft etc., but this will not take everything away. There will always be some in some rpm, or under some load etc. When struggling to be petrol efficient, this could also be a big problem....

Re: 'Slipping' or grinding felt through footpegs - 2015 1200RT
It could also be that the engine is starving from petrol. I have a similar feeling in 3-4' range. I think the engine is running really leen and that can give some strange vibrations in surthan situations.
