Re: Weather protection

Dealer rang me today to say all my weather protection panels and fittings have arrived. I ordered them 6 days ago. Just got to find time for the 120 mile round trip to Rotherham to pick them up. Rainbow by any chance? I ordered mine from there on the 2nd Jan and I'm still awaiting one bolt and 5 wa...

Re: Weather protection

Don't know to be fair. There's obviously some vortex/swirl effect from the rear wheel but as yet I've not had chance to run with my panniers on (shed door gap too small, too much effort to affix at 6am).
That's the next mucky day test :-)

Re: Weather protection

The commute is 8 miles on rural A road and 5 miles on a 70mph dual carriageway. No extras on the work RT with no similar issues.

Re: Winter riding!

David, I have a circulation issue/disease! On my yamaha Fazer I never went out when it was 10'c or less but the LC has not as yet been a problem. I don't run heated kit at home mainly because I choose not to ride for pleasure when it's shitty cold! As for work, no heated gear, rukka clothing snd wei...

Winter riding!

had a hoon around on Saturday! The ride in at 06:15 was great on the LC with the grips, seat and better wind protection. At work! F**k me it was cold! My boots were wet through with the road shite and ultimately I got numb toes so had to seek refuge and warm the little buggers up for 45 minutes (air...

Re: Weather protection

Holy Moly! I just sourced the washers and bolt from Max BMW in the States and they wanted $61 for p&p!! :-\ I can only guess that's the DE to USA to UK shipping FFS! For now I have an Allan key bolt in place and M8 Plastic washers. Just ordered some M7x12mm washers from Germany, not Beemer ones....

Re: Weather protection

Cheers matey ;-)

Edit 22/1, fitted my kit today with some 'non-bmw' bits as I'm still riding this time of year. The bike looks strange with them on, but better with the panniers on as well.
Thank you all for the idea, hints and tips. Great forum,
Craig.

Re: Weather protection

Picked up 95% of my parts today, still waiting for 5 washers and the M5x25 bolt (of which there are none BMW worldwide at the moment!) Is it possible for someone to post a pic of this bolt so I can see the side profile of the head before I buy one from elsewhere? M5x25 Body screw without collar 4663...
