Re: Recall work

Well my experience has been totally to opposite to yours. Sadly, I have to retract my good words about Barrie Robson. I needed to take the weather protection and lower panels off last Friday and the securing bolts were all wrong for the relevant holes (incorrect lengths for the position). One on th...

Re: First Short Ride

Glad you like it 👍

Regarding the screen, I’m 6’6” and have a high seat, set on high because it messes with my legs and hip joints so need a massive screen for the quieter side of life in my lug holes 🤣

I don’t enjoy riding the work bikes as they have standard screens so get a right head battering!

Re: little Rant

 I have an excuse! I work   I think you just turn up. I work too 🤣 On a serious note, I joined this forum before I picked up my bike from the dealer in 2014. I generally pop in every day and have used a lot of info on here to solve issues, bought lots of shiney stuff I didn’t know ...

Mac001 wrote: Mon Feb 26, 2024 5:23 am So for those who have had a new driveshaft fitted especially, but anyone else as well, has the “quality enhancement” of the weep hole and rubber been fitted as well?
The weep hole was done at the same time as shaft replacement for me.

Wierpig wrote: Sun Feb 25, 2024 5:14 pm Has anyone had confirmation of this from BMW?
I had mine done last month. 2014, 29000 miles, completed when I took her in for the footrest circlip recall.

Re: Knee Op Date

I am tempted to still tax the RT for the month, just to be able to get out on it at least once before my op. Will check the on the 29th the weather app for the week ahead and if its dry-ish i will tax it. Tax then SORN her after, either way she’s there for you if need be (I’ll not go into short ter...

Re: Centre stand removal

Actually, I’ve ordered some PVC tubing. It’s 20mm internal diameter and I am going to slit it lengthwise and see if it will stay in place and offer a first line of defence against road cr*p. Not sure if it will cause a water trap or even hold its shape but worth a try. :? I tried getting the stand ...

Re: Recall work

I'm torn between them and going to Grimsby! I have had servicing done in Grimsby with no issues but never used Barrie Robson I've heard some horror stories about both dealerships, mainly the sales side. When I had the warranty I travelled to Rainbow at Rotherham. I'd only heard of York recently and...

Barrie Robson, York

Can’t fault the BMW service as my bike was last at a dealer in September 2017! (It’s last software update was 2016).

Re: Recall work

After receiving a letter regarding the footpeg recall I had the work done this morning. New shaft, Hole drilled in swing arm & grommet fitted. All footrest circlips replaced. Software update wouldn’t work so dealer report off to BMW. Sept 2014 RTLC, 29,000 miles. I paid for the valve check to be...

Re: Mirrors

Good luck 🤞

The only other way I found they came off was whilst escorting the German chancellor from RAF Northolt into central London and I got a bit close to an oncoming vehicle’s door mirror which knocked the back off mine 🫣😂

Re: Mirrors

Fold mirror in then pull the exposed section of the mirror back inline/parallel to the line of the glass. I find a quick jerk works better than a long pull!
