Re: Valuation shock
I totally agree Private, low mileage has got to be the way to go. Lets be honest they mostly all have full service history and to be fair they are all in good nick. I reckon that's cos they appeal to us older riders who tend to look after them. I saved nearly £2000 on my last buy, plus I sold my 05...

Re: Fresh blood! Considering purchasing an RT
If I were you slowvet I would be checking tyre pressures and suspension settings. Ive done thousands of miles on RTs and never had any weird gyrations. Try dropping a gear (or 2) going into corner not under power but just enough on to keep bike steady, when on apex open it up make back en...

Re: 2005 rt
I reckon theres some good dealers out there, I can only really comment on the experience Ive had with one dealer My current bike was from up North and Ive invoices from Coopers of Sunderland and I must say they are a lot cheaper than the dealer I used to use . Unfortunately its a bit far for me to ...

Re: 2005 rt
I agree with RT man10, If that servo goes wrong ,very expensive to fix probably 50% of bikes value. I think 2007 on is the way to go. Service history is a must BUT having said that its only as good as the mechanic. Ive lost a lot of faith in dealers and I now go to a independent garage, t...

Re: R1200RT (2005-2009)
Yes I must admit I am very happy with the twin cam. I re placed the discs on my last one at about 49000 miles so they did well. But my mate had a problem with warping and he had a few pairs fitted under warranty. I take runs mostly on Sundays , sometimes during the week.&nbs...

Re: R1200RT (2005-2009)
Up to 2002 I always had R80RTs, I suppose for around 8 yrs or so. Then came the R1150 RT I took one out for a test ride in Oct 2001 and was hooked I ordered it. It was brilliant, I went to Europe on it 3 times in 2003, taking wife first, 2nd trip was with son then daughter moaned that she...

Re: RT1200 not idling from cold
Chris, Ive had 3 RTs and they have always idled at around 1000 rpm/1100rpm When cold maybe a little higher for a minute or so. What mileage has it done ?? What I tend to do is fire it up then put helmet and gloves o...

Re: Just a few quick questions
RT man10 Thanks, I will try 36,42, we are going to Durham this Saturday for a night so will try it then. ESA cost is frightening, Ive seen or read about folks paying £ 3000 to get new units I think the manual one I changed was £650 fitted. But theres a company...
