Re: centre stand painting
Centre stands do get hammered with gravel rash, (particularly the crossbar between the two vertical legs), resulting in corrosion. Not wishing to remove the stand, I rubbed down the horizontal tube, brush painted with Hammerite Smooth then fitted a length of plastic tubing for future protection. htt...

Re: The Northern Monkeys are back
This is a suggested route between Thorp Arch and River Humber.

65 miles in a riding time of ~2 hours with at P&T stop at McDonalds in Thorne which is halfway.

Option 1 - Meet at Thorp Arch for an 11:00 departure, riding together to the River Humber and possibly to the outskirts of York, split for home. Option 2 - Make your own way to the River Humbe...

Re: The Northern Monkeys are back
How about making the River Humber P&T stop, https://www.visitnorthlincolnshire.com/ ... or-centre/ a lunchtime meet at 13:00.
With the option of heading northwest to the outskirts of York P&T stop, then splitting for home from there.

Re: The Northern Monkeys are back
I would have to go the long way round for that as its only 17 miles from my house. I would need to go a long way around too, as its only 6 miles from mine. The idea is that the ride would start from Thorp Arch (Wetherby) which is around an hour away for those who have expressed an interest in atten...

Re: The Northern Monkeys are back
My approach has always been, 'We want to be leaving by.........o'clock' . This then allows people who want a cooked breakfast to turn up earlier than those just wanting a brew and toilet. I would be wanting to start the ride around 10:00 to 10:30. I agree with this approach, would leaving Thorp Arc...
