Re: Service Time

My RT is 12 years old, I supply parts & oils to a BMW dealer, they service it at a very favourable hourly labour rate.

Keeps up the T&C's of the Insured Warranty until the motorcycle has done over 80K miles at the start of the policy one year.

Re: Service Time

Having got reassurance from BMW Insured Warranty about the use of both Hiflo & Mahle oil filters, I'm more than happy to use their air filters too.

Re: Map update

Just checked Garmin Express, there is a map update for the Zumo 660 to 2025.10 Northwest Europe Partial Region.

Have started update to device (x2) & PC, will report back later.

One device & PC updated, second device update ongoing.

All done, happy days.

jackronner wrote: Wed Jul 10, 2024 2:29 amI released enough oil (maybe 150 ml) to bring it to the normal fill line. Don't know if that was enough to cause any troubles.
The Silkolene Engine Flush is 100 ml which is added to the engine before draining the oil, https://www.silkolene.com/motorcycle/cl ... -one-shot/

Re: Service Time

The air filter service intervals may well be every 12K miles. Two Hiflo filters can be had for less than one BMW filter.

After 6K miles, the air filter is usually fairly grubby, mine gets changed every 6K miles.

Re: Service Time

I've supplied and BMW have fitted Hiflo oil filters to my RT.

As this filter is of equivalent spec. to OEM, there are no issues with the BMW Insured Warranty either.

Buy a Hiflo HFA7915 air filter and save ~£20.

EasyRider wrote: Tue Jul 09, 2024 6:01 amHe said if I just want an oil and filter service with bike health check, its £170. Because of how much use the bike has had this year, I think that is all it needs.
At 18K miles, it needs an air filter too.
