My brother in law runs a BMW car which he has had from new. It's now covered around 50,000 miles and is the same age as my bike. Nothing has failed which required replacement under warranty. Me think on bikes it's just a gimmick too far.  In cars when it's linked to no keys to open the door etc maybe but on a bike you are just replacing one action with another one.  I have had both and I'm glad it's gone.  On balance, I tend to agree. I had it on my Multistra...
