RT STOLEN - just now...

Please keep a look out for BMW R1200RT LC registration number FT64 FOH, taken from Beddington Lane, Croydon. Not my bike but it was parked outside a friend's house for about 40 minutes. Reported to Police so ANPR can try to find it if its being...

Finally, I give up...

Three years ago I announced I was going to buy an RTLC. All my mates laughed at me, their comments being variations on the theme of being old before my time and was I getting a pipe and slippers at the same time. Still, broad shoulders and all that, I bought the bike.  It did what I asked ...

Re: Wales 3 Days

Pretty useless (unsolicited) advice when you happen to live there. I seem to recall a thread somewhere about saying nowt if you have nowt positive to say. For the sake of pedantry where does it say that all 600 miles should be Welsh. Does a tour of the Black Forest start and finish there. I think n...

Surely, only scrap if all components aren't there?  Lots of 5-pin bits available in the bay...

My advice for a 200 mile a day tour of Wales would be not to start in Derby!

Always one willing to learn from others, John am I understanding you correctly...

connecting a charger like an Optimate to a canbus BMW accessory socket (i.e. the power outlet) will charge the battery?

Re: RT LC & Optimate charger

Good for you :) I've used so called battery conditioning for 10 years and never had an issue with any battery, also used a so called battery conditioner on my Caterham 7 race car throughout the winter, when not racing, and yes you've guessed it - no problems with the battery at all. Each to their o...

Re: RT LC & Optimate charger

Ive used an Optimate 4 through the accessory socked for over a year now, no ill effects, but I do take it off every week or so to give the battery a break. I do ride all year though, so its never plugged in for weeks on end I got so bored of my Optimate frying batteries on my old Guzzi Breva that I...

Re: Sat nav question

Is the LC model nicer than the 13 model? They are two completely different bikes. Some prefer one, others prefer the slower, less refined, older model. It seems that most people's preference is easy to justify - it's the one they happen to own! Both are good bikes but for every 100 people that have...

From write-ups on other forums it sounds like it's auto-skipping quite a few things it's not supposed to - especially music ones!

I'm 5'11" and have a 30 inch inseam... I rest my case... ;) ;) To be fair, I enjoyed riding the R9T but I had to persist.  After the first couple of miles, I thought I was going to have to give up because it was so cramped.  I'm also 5' 11" but I have really long (32&quo...
