It certainly was Richard.  BMW Australia run two GS events each year, the GS Safari and the GS Enduro, with a road bike TS Safari run biennially (see link below).  So popular they're booked out well in advance.

BMW TS Safari 2016 (Australia)

Two weeks ago I participated in the BMW TS (Touren Sports) Safari 2016, organised by BMW Australia, essentially for road bikes. This year the Safari commenced in Kingscliff (northern New South Wales) and ended five days later (after approximately 2,300km or 1,430 miles) at Jenolan Caves in the Blue ...

Re: R1200RT Twin Cam (2010-2013)

Hi John I like the look and practicalities of the Flat Bed I rode about 500+ miles in October with a load that was shifting slightly and which made me feel uncomfortable to say the least. It is weird that there are no anchor points worth mentioning on the 2014 RT probably because Herr BMW wants us ...

Re: Newbie

Welcome Christer. Everybody on this forum seems to be suffering from bad weather.  Unless of course you are one of those smug members from Sydney, Florida, California I'll send you a 5kg jar of Sydney sunshine RTman if you send me a bag of lush green pastures (like we see in Midsomer Murde...

Re: Uploading Images to R1200RT Forum

The next image shows the important part that you're after, the line of code that you place into a message on the forum so it links back to your photos (now in your MYIMAGES part in the Gallery).  This next part is if you want to put an image (or images) into a posted message on the forum.&a...

Uploading Images to R1200RT Forum

My apologies for these huge posts but I read a couple of message lately where members were having trouble uploading images to the forum.  I hope the following explains how easy it is, particularly where I've only posted images with fancy red arrows to show where to Click.  STeinar,...

Re: R1200RT Twin Cam (2010-2013)

Hi Waratah, share some photos when you pick it up from the Garage, sounds interesting      ;) I sure will Stelyn, as soon as "She Who Must Be Obeyed" lets me get back into the garage to finish the project; at the moment she claims the yard and gardens are more u...

Re: R1200RT Twin Cam (2010-2013)

I've always ridden with the side cases on and have only removed them from the bike when washing. The RT really is a great looking motorcycle with the cases off! Hi Firenailer, I'll take the bike out for a day with the side cases (panniers) on or off, maybe with the top case fitted, maybe just the t...

I too went for a 2010-13 model - a 2012 RT SE (all the bells and whistles) - purchased new in September of that year here in Sydney, Australia.  A brilliant piece of machinery..!!

MAX BMW Garage R1200RT Body Panel Removal and Installation https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2UHU4ZQ2C_Q Isn't that a brilliant video David.  I stumbled across this pre-LC video a couple of months ago, watched it, then removed the Tupperware from my 2012 model without any trouble, replacing ...

Re: ABS Modulator issue

Correct me if I am wrong, but is it an option to carry out an ABSectomy and just run with normal brakes ? I have heard of this being done at a fraction of the cost. "Re-plumbing" an ABS brake setup back to a conventional system shouldn't be a big problem and, after following the "BMW...

Thank you for the compliment Spencer.  Yes, I wondered why your pic ended on it's side?
