Re: Top Box vs Panniers

I've done a fair bit of filtering in my time and always with panniers. As with some of our other posters, I don't worry too much about the panniers - the only time my panniers touched was when I was at a standstill and the guy towing the horse box I couldn't pass decided to squeeze me out - fortunat...

Re: C3 Pro or System 6 Evo?

I'm on my second system 6, the current one being the "evo" version. I find them comfortable, even after some very long days in the saddle. They appear to be quality items, at least as good as the Arais and Shoei I've had in the past. The Shoei was a flip-front and was a little lighter than...

Re: Travel Insurance with medial issues

Insurance gets expensive with age, medical history and daring to ride a motorbike larger than 125cc. Snowcard are worth a look as they cover all sorts of "adventure" sports much more dangerous than motorcycling and they take a reasonable view of medical conditions which are under control. ...

Re: Battery Charging

The excellent Sportsbikeshop have the Optimate4 @ £53.99 free post That's an excellent price but, as with most battery tenders, it is not advertised as canbus compatible, doesn't come with a Din connector (so can't be plugged in to the accessory socket on the RT) and you then have to find the batte...

Re: Rain? Road? Dynamic? ... Or mix it a bit?

Surely this thread only applies to the LC as only it had different engine modes. Or have I just not seen the joke ? /quote] I think this is an issue which runs right through this forum - we may all be speaking about an R1200RT but the 2006 and 2017 models, while they have many similarities, also ha...

Re: Misfire on acceleration

I wasn't using the gear shift pro when the issue presented itself, but I got the idea that the system had become "confused" and was cutting the power when it shouldn't, hence my wondering if the fault lay with the quickshifter system. It happened in Road and Dynamic and maybe it would have...

Misfire on acceleration

I'm currently running in my new R1200RT LE.  Now half way to the running in check. I've had an issue with the engine cutting out momentarily while accelerating. The circumstances seem to be changing up from 1st to 2nd or 2nd to 3rd conventionally (as opposed to using the quick shifter).&...

Re: Battery condition / engine performance relationship?

Hi, Starting my RT is a bit hit and miss if its been standing because the battery is not good. It has been getting worse over the past couple of months and on Sunday it didn't have enough in it to start the bike although I had only charged it the previous morning. After charging again on Sunday it ...

Re: OIL CHANGE AT 600 MILES

I have a definitive answer  !  😀 The chief tech at my Motorcade dealer checked online and gave me a copy of the details of the "running in check". Everybody else was right and I  (or rather my Rider's Manual ) was wrong.  The tech took a copy of page 190...

I don't have a definitive answer but my 2008, 2010 and 2013 RTs were all SE models and all had heated seats.

Re: OIL CHANGE AT 600 MILES

Can't find it but last week somebody posted that they had been told there was no longer an oil change done on the initial inspection service at 600 miles.  NOT TRUE.  It has to be changed. If / when I can get my scanner to work (I've tried to attach a photo) I,ll post a copy of pa...
