If the topic is Regional Meets for riders of R1200RTs, I would be interested in anything between :
Newcastle, Cairnryan, Fort William and Fraserburgh.
For most members that would be the "Northern" region.

Re: alternator output
Interesting question. I assume that if a socket is overloaded it will simply switch off, so effectively the system is foolproof as standard. If a distribution box (e.g. a PDM60) is powered from the battery and enough add-ons are connected to draw a little more than the output of the altern...

Re: Average Speed Cameras - UK & EU
If they're front facing, I'll set the cruise control to 10% over in the car, 20% over on the bike. If rear facing, it's 10% over for both. Speeds taken from speedo on car and satnav on bike. I bought a Volkswagen with an expensive satnav to eliminate having to stick anything on the windscr...

Re: Gel, Air or Bean pad etc ... Numb bum cure wanted
Airhawk +1. Prague to Calais, only stopping for fuel and coffee in 12 hours, 690 miles. Pain free butt. In fact, pain free everything. That would have been an epic ride ! I have done long days in the saddle too and can't say it's ever been pain free, but then getting out of bed isn't pain free thes...

Re: RT v GS
Thanks for your input mate , I won't me going to so much trouble of lowering pegs etc , if the RT isn't right for me on the day I will buy the GSA to be honest it's looking like the Adventure, but I would like to try the RT first and there is no rush , winter is just about upon us , I will happily ...

Re: Disc lock.
Not sure why you would be concerned - the system is rated to enormous pressure, and the pressure applied by the throttlelock is nowhere near maximum. I certainly don't worry about having it on for short / medium periods.RTBoy wrote: Exactly what I thought!!

Re: Gel, Air or Bean pad etc ... Numb bum cure wanted
I did a lot of long days on my 2013 R1200RT and my answer to minimising numb bum was to send my seat to "Elite Motorcycle Seats" : http://www.sussexmotorcycles.com/elite-comfort-motorcycle-seats.html I asked them to make the seat flatter (less "cupped"), reduce the slope down to ...

Re: Which intercom.... bike to bike....
thousands to choose from any help appreciated. Would like bike to bike and rider to pillion :)) I have the BMW system 6 evo helmet with the BMW communicator. It works well with satnav, phone and pillion. It works adequately bike to bike - very short range compared to Sena and the like. If...

Re: Falling into slow corners
..... Nothing wrong with the front tyre compound. ..... If I nervously stare a meter ahead at the road surface, madly searching for that next spot of diesel that will have me off, the bike feels very very uncertain and tippy. Duh. The problem is me, not the bike. ..... So, a brilliant bik...

Re: Fuel Stabilizer
I use Premium petrol for most of the year but if it doesn't look like I'll be using the bike for some weeks / months I'll switch to Super in the hope that it won't degrade as much as Premium. I've never used a fuel additive and I'd be very wary of putting anything other than petrol in the ...

Re: Set for a fun weekend...
The RT has gone off to Bahnstormers for its 12,000 mile service. They've kindly leant me another ride for the weekend - their S1000XR demonstrator. Looking forward to the weekend... >:D I had a test ride on one. It was my idea of a sports bike - fast and fun, and comfortable enough. Buying one woul...
