Re: Engine Break-In

I've visited motorcycle factories and watched the pre-packing check where the bike is strapped to a dyno and run through all the gears - full throttle, to peak revs. I'm therefore not too fussy about observing a conservative rev limit during my running in process, but I wouldn't want to abuse it wit...

Re: Brexit - What's Changing

The GOV.UK website suggests, "You might need an IDP to drive in some EU countries and Norway from 1 January 2021 if you have, a paper driving licence". Perhaps this refers to the old green paper licences and that the British photocard licence will still be valid in the EU. In years gone b...

Re: Battery replacement OEM or Lithium Ion??

When I had to replace the battery on my RT last year, I considered a Lithium battery.  I'm sure it would have been OK, but I  would be more comfortable fitting a lithium battery only when the bike comes with one as standard. I chose a Motobatt AGM battery :  https://www.ta...

Welcome to the forum.

Topbox etc from R1200RT - LC / K52 - 2014 / 2020

I am trading in my R1200RT, which I bought new in November 2016, for a F900XR.  I have a couple of items which won't be going with the trade in. 1.  A 49l topbox in bronze metallic.  This will fit R1200RT, R1250RT and K1600GT from 2014 to current. It comes with the high l...

Re: Passenger Footpeg lowering kit

I've got a similar set hanging in the garage.

Made in a local machine shop to fit a FJR1300.  I suspect they would fit other bikes, but I've never checked.

Re: Navigator vi

Didnt know the Garmin Nav VI recorded this, last trip telemetry. Sure my previous one didnt do this. I'm guessing this feature is exclusive to the Nav VI, since I haven't seen anything like it on my Nav V. I'm of an age and physical condition that finds me fearful of dropping my R1200RT in very low speed manoeuvres so, although I love the bike, I'm trading it ...
