Re: Bmw System 6, schuberth c3 or Shoei helmet?
Well thanks everyone for the heads up (sorry) on the helmets. My mate loves his Schubert C3 , I like(d) my shoei but I think I'll probably give the system 6 a ride out for a couple of years. Incidentally, the cabergs are not bad value for money, but I once borrowed one- a Justimo? or whatever it was...

Bmw System 6, schuberth c3 or Shoei helmet?
Looks like I'm going to have to get a new helmet. All of the above helmets seem to be very well made, light and reported to be very quiet. I've personally had good use from shoei over the years but what are your experiences on these?

[quote author=Levisp link= Bilt Hamber Auto-Balm is a high quality wax with corrosion inhibitors. Auto Balm is a very good product. Re: ride out this Sunday
The weather is looking pretty good this weekend so a few of my riding buddies and I are going to have a run out to the Manor Cafe' at Bellerby if anyone's over that way on Sunday morning. If you haven't been to this cafe it's quite a new, almost dedicated bikers cafe, lots of parking, decent food &a...

Re: 2011 R1200RT Brakes
I think it's false economy buying none original parts personally. what's the point of paying top dollar for a premium car/motorbike if you are going to put cheap or inferior parts on it? When it comes to tyres and brakes you want the best.

Re: To ACF50 or not to ACF50
I agree Livisp, considering the premium we pay for these 'high end' bikes, I do feel the quality could be much better. I've never yet managed to totally prevent corrosion on my previous bikes and some of them weren't even used during winter months and all were kept in a heated garage. By comparison,...

Re: To ACF50 or not to ACF50
Given that Coopers, Vines and Wiiliams BMW main dealers all advocate the use of ACF50 I think it's safe to assume it is an approved substance. Otherwise these dealers would have a bit of a problem on their hands when the claims start coming in... I for one will be following the advice from my dealer...

Re: To ACF50 or not to ACF50
Reading the information I got with my LC, BMW actually recommend ACF50. So I heard, if the bike hasn't been cleaned & protected in accordance with their guidance they can refuse to honour warranty work for corrosion. (The sales man from the dealership mentioned this to me). I also read that cold...

Re: Biker Watchdog
I'd be careful with Coopers Sunderland Dave. As I mentioned in my previous posting their service department have tried to riff me a number of times. For example, I booked a bike in for a warranty repair, they said oh your mot is due in a couple of weeks, why not book in then & we'll do the repai...

Halo/angel eyes on LC
I've just noticed that my LE LC doesn't have angel eyes! I thought they were standard on the LE. I'm gutted, I really liked those
:grave:
Does anyone know if these can be fitted or are they factory options only?

Re: New RT LC vs old RT- styling & finish
I think the plastics some are referring to are those on the side of the bike and those at the front of the tank towards the fairing. I hate to admit it but I think these pieces do feel a bit delicate. However they're purely decorative so Im not too concerned. Regarding fading, I think a touch of sil...

Re: New RT LC vs old RT- styling & finish
I have no issues with gearbox either. Mine is absolutely fine. In fact I've not a bad box in any if my RT's. The only complaint I have with all my previous BM's is the flaking of the paint on the engine and the blistering around the final drive unit. I know this is supposed to be as a result of salt...

Re: New RT LC vs old RT- styling & finish
I thought exactly the same Dave about the engine not feeling like a boxer once it's on the move. I don't object to that though. I also agree about the TC feeling more sure footed, but I think the LC has a quicker turn in and is more nimble when changing direction quickly. (flickable as they say) Per...

Re: weird rear brake pulsing
If it's a rapid clicking sensation that doesn't increase with speed, it's your ABS. (Although this seems unlikely if it hasn't sent a P code & thus illuminated a light on your dash) The easiest way to check this is to take the bike out on a straight road to about 20mph, and the apply the rear br...
