Re: Android wifi connection to TFT (2023 RT)
I'm experiencing the same problem. Google Pixel 5 phone. Android version 14. I'm using this as a ''dedicated bike phone'' - it's not being used for any other function other than running the app. No SIM card installed. Bike software version is 13/13/20. I've updated the Connected Ride App to version ...

Re: UK Annual Meet 2025
I'll probably join in for the day rides.
I live only about 36 miles/45 minutes away, so I'll not stay overnight, but will meet up at the ride start point

Re: Wanted. Rear seat for a 2014.
Just to clarify, when you say a '2014' bike, are you referring to a late 'TwinCam' air/oil-cooled model or an early 'LC' bike? I have a heated rear seat available. BMW part number 52538544790. Would fit any watercooled R1200/1250RT, from 2014 to current bike model. Motorworks are asking £145, but th...

Re: Garage Floor Tiles
I've got these down in my garage workshop: https://www.costco.co.uk/search?searchOption=uk-search-all&text=garage%20floor&q=garage%20floor:relevance:brand:Klikflor They were easy to fit and are very hard-wearing. They've been down about 6 years and show no sign of wear. I do have a rubber-ba...

Where in the UK are you located?
I have some made-to-measure leather trousers from Scott Leathers in Barnard Castle. Very good quality and not too expensive (although I've had them a few years now).

Re: Electronic screen missing bolt on R1250RT
They may be a BMW-only part.
From memory, I think I obtained a used one from Motorworks. Check part fitment carefully - I think the upper and lower pins are a slightly different length and diameter.
I also bought some 'beefier' E clips. The original BMW ones are a bit thin and flimsy.

Re: Key Blanks
How the hell do they then jump to £200+ for a coded key  https://i.postimg.cc/J0c6grst/20240627-094853.jpg Presumably the relatively high price for the 'fob' key is due to the electronic trickery contained within, versus the simple 'blade with a rubber head' of the non-coded 'dumb' key. The t...

Re: Key Blanks
I've bought non-BMW blank keys from eBay in the past and tried to get them cut at Timpsons and a couple of local locksmiths. My experiences: a) The eBay blanks are not of the same quality as BMW keys. The blade material is not as hard. I have no experience of the Motorworks blanks. b) High street lo...

Re: 2010-2013 RT
Check also that the rear disc carrier has been replaced (usually done under warranty). Early models were alloy, which cracked through the bolt holes.. The updated part is steel. Handlebar switchgear was problematic on some models. I had both sides replaced on my 2011 bike. But again, most should hav...

Re: What don't you like
I'm pretty happy with mine, but to make it even better, I'd like to see: 1 - A better standard of finish and more robust paint finishes. Especially on the centre stand etc. 2 - Stainless bolts everywhere . Surely wouldn't add much ex-factory cost to an already expensive bike. 3 - A full-length engin...
