Re: TIMING CHAIN TENTSIONERS ON WEATHEAD

Have the throttle bodies beem synced lately? Not sure about the wet head but with the hex head, symptoms point to the throttle bodies.

Re: 2012 RT - Weird Symbol on dash

Yes, that symbol is your heated seat in the on position.  So your seat heater is on.  Turn it off and it will go away.

Re: Greasing Splines

I have an 05.  To change the fd fluid you must seperate the final drive to drain the old fluid.  That is when i lube the spline.  It usually happens before every 2nd oil chg.  Moly paste works.

unless you have some compelling reason to work on your bike, do not make extra work for yourself. That is not called for in preventive maintenance.  It is not a harley.

Re: Best spark plugs to fit a 2005 RT

NGK Motorcycle Applications 2015, https://www.ngkntk.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/2015-Motorcycle-catalogue.pdf On page 17, the catalogue confirms the fitment of both Standard (DCPR8EKC) & Iridium (DCPR8EIX) plugs for a 2005 RT. "Owners who want the very best performance from their bik...

Re: Airhawk / Tourtec inflatable seat cushion advice needed.

I have An 05 RT and use an Air Hawk. I find it to be very helpful for me and I do not have any discomfort riding with the hawk. The trick really is as you say to have it inflated about halfway and use it so that your rear is just slightly above the back of the seat. I have come to the point when I j...

Re: 2016 RT With A Rear Car Tire

Motorcycle tire manufacturers I am sure are aware of the potential to use a CT on a motorcycle.  But, it really isn't in their best interest to either lobby for or market this practice.  Why should they?  It will end up costing them in the long run in tire sales, potential...

Re: Unusual Tyre wear?

On my 05, I always keep my tire pressure at 42 - 43 as much as possible.  I know that many go below 40.  I have owned the bike for about 10 years now, and do not usually see any strange tire wear.  Now of course, my right hand is a bit aggressive and that takes its toll on...

Re: High octane fuel - worth the extra for the LC?

Wow, that is some great gas mileage.  Here in Colorado, USA, octane level for premium is 91, regular is 85.  I usually use 91 at about 50 - 54 mpg.  I have gotten 60 when I am riding downhill from up to 14,000 feet to about 8000.  But, that is very, very seldom.&am...

ContiMotions .  I had a set.  They are far less expensive than just about any other offering out there.  I have 7K on the front and got about 5K on the rear before I changed the rear to a Roadsmart III.  The combination is just fine !!! I will definitely buy anot...

Re: Budget Tyres ?.

Everyone has their own view on the subject.  This thread reminds me of the objection to a less expensive helmet.  "How much is your head worth".  That is a great marketing ploy, but it is about as close to the truth as the Wizard of Oz. Take it from someone that ...
