Re: Ilium works shifter extender
When I sold my 1600 removed mine and installed on my new RT
Wise choice it works well, hasn't scuffed my sidi boots yet, 20,000 miles on 1600 and another 4 on RT, foot brake enlarger is another story, some sharp edges that needed smoothing

I would first check to make sure seat is plugged in
It happened on my 1600 after dealer service, seat was unplugged

Re: Well, crap. Laid it over.
Did the same thing when I had my 1600
Top portion of cover was resprayed for $150 ouch
Bottom portion, black, I covered with factory case protectors, about 150 for both sides
Mirror was about 100
Plus clutch lever 60
Expensive let off
My new RT has case savers

My buddy had same issue with his 2006
It was a upper coil failure. He checked by pull coil and starting bike, using insulated gloves see if you can get a spark between coil and plug, if so go to opposite side. For some reason upper coils fail more often

Re: Where to buy an Akropovic/Remus slip on can?
I also had a 1600 for three years, being to cheap to spend $1500 on aftermarket exhaust. I opened up the upper and lower holes on each muffler, improved 1600 sound 100% at no cost. Gonna study the muffler on my new RT carefully to see if a modification is in order, will keep everyone posted
