Re: WERKS Quiet Ride Windshield

I initially ordered the tall, but at 5'9", I was looking through it, even on lowest setting. I like to be able to see over the shield when I want to, so I swapped it for the regular model. You are correct about the rain Got soaked on interstate 40 last week. 400 miles heavy rain Didn't think w...

Re: WERKS Quiet Ride Windshield

Knock on wood, my 15 RT is the first BMW that I haven't changed the seat and windshield. They both appear to be working correctly
WERKS windshield does look like good solution if your having issues with stock one though

Re: RTLC is HOT!

Isn't left side oil cooler
Right side radiator
And yes they put out some serious heat
Researching if RTP models have different cooling system both oil and radiator or different fan system, would be great to have extra cooling on hot days

Re: Good deal? Need ur help!

I got my fully loaded 15 for $24,000 out the door
Keyless, TPM, alarm and shift assist
My understanding all BMW's have TPM, I wasn't too keen on shift assist and hill hold till I got a few miles on the bike, shift assist gets a

Re: Right stowage compartment - 2014RT

Drain hole would be easy to do, make sure of what's below it before drilling away My 15 does not have a drain hole, I would suspect you have a issue with the raised rubber seal that surrounds the inner lip of case, if bike is still under warranty a trip to dealer may be in order. My first step would...

Re: Running in

Air cooled and air/oil oooled boxer engines came from factory with mineral oil in crankcase with the caveat to not switch to synethic till 6000 miles for proper ring seating. Water cooled bikes come with synethic oil from factory. My K1600 was a demo bike with 1500 miles on it when I purchased it, s...

Re: Stebel replacement horn

SteveF
Can you supply us with the model number of your installed horn
I bought the horning kit that was supposed to fit the 15 model, after many conversations with Sierra Bmw
Including pictures, it was agreed it wouldn't fit
Would love a straight replacement
Thanks
Jim

Re: 2005 R1200RT side marker lights burn all the time. Key on, key off. ?????

Couple of questions How long have you had bike? Has light out indicator always been on? Did aux lights ever work? This is a pre can bus bike so wiring should be simple Can you tell how aux lights were wired Do the have a switch If I had to bet previous owner screwed up wiring Last resort in manual I...

Re: Light recommendation?

I've found programming to be easier, by using the 14 and up RT method. Turn ingition on and using a jumper from battery touch brake wire to hot lead the correct number of times to program what you desire

Re: Light recommendation?

During the programming of P3 lights, flicker can be disabled, I've done that on all my installs
Only reason I have done so many bikes is my buddies that ride behind me, realize the safety value of aux lights
Yes P3's are all about function and not beauty
