BMW R1200RT/R1250RT Forum

Had these fitted to my 2020 RT last week, just want everyone to know that the clearance on the right side is very tight.  I called illium works and they said it is normal and that they might rub on the fairing on some bikes. https://www.flickr.comhttps://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50600798...

200 miles on my 2020RT and was able to get in for a new seat due to a cancellation.  Almost 3" taller than stock, with gel pad. A bit wider and longer and both seats covered in leather.  Done at Rich's Custom Seats in Kingston, WA. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/504119928...

I commuted from Puyallup to Seattle and Everett on a GSA, RT and K16GT.  Traffic has gotten worse.  Get a bright yellow or orange aerostitch one piece suit

Congratulations. Do tell us why you decided to go for a "slower" bike - what advantages does the 1250RT have over the K16. Never really got a feel for the K16, it was super fast and smooth, had no vibration, but it always felt heavy.  I like the boxer motor, started with a R100GS...

Sold my K1600Gt and ordered a R1250RT -- should be here end of the week

I recently finished a Four Corners Ride on my 15 RT  - did 8300 miles in 14 days.  Had to make some mods to make it fit me at 6-4.  Custom seat and lowered foot pegs.  Longest day was Reno to San Diego  740 miles no problem

new to this forum - have a 2015 RT (4 months old) and have almost 11K miles on it already - Finished a USA Four Corners on it last month in 14 days
