Re: WERKS Quiet Ride Windshield

Gotcha Moonie yeah I agree with the 'picture tells a thousand words' that must be true as Bread sang a song about it  :) ) . The problem with uploading pictures on this site is it seems to be a problem in itself and that maybe the reason people rarely post pictures. I have several times fa...

Re: Loving My R1200RT

Sell everything while the Aussie dollar is low, freight your bike Down Under and move to 'God's Country' (Queensland - 'beautiful one day, perfect the next') and you'll ride every day of the year. Crazy bike roads and a State 3 times the size of Texas to roam in. I've wanted to do that most of my a...

Re: Depreciation

I recently purchased my 2012 R1200RT with all of the options except NAV. In USD I paid $11,500. It has 33K miles on it but is in pristine condition. MY Credit Union said they could have loaned as much as $15K! I saw several available from local private sellers for more money and some were 2010's. I ...

Re: Loving My R1200RT

I too Love my RT! Ive only had it for 2 months and it is a 2012, but yesterday I finally got a chance to take it out and put about 200 miles on it. My friend who owns and HD and I just zig zagged all around mid Michigan on a sunny and 63 degree November day and just had a blast. On a lonely country ...

Re: Headlamp not working

I posted a thread on the forum some time ago regarding an email I received from Williams Motorcycles Manchester telling me about the L/C needing replacing that they would do on my next arranged visit also inspect and replace R/C if necessary. My bike is a LCRT 2014 This is why i posted the photo. I...

Re: Headlamp not working

I have replied to the email stating that there are members on several BMW forums that have had them replaced free of charge....I shall post up any reply once received... Maybe this will help: If your left side controller looks like the one in this photo, ((the red horn button is hooked on the new o...

Re: Headlamp not working

well, i certainly cant speak to any other countries warranties, but i can only speak to my situation. My dealer never even asked if i was the original owner or not, and they said they would have replaced the switches regardless of whether i was having an issue or not., So maybe it depends on the dea...

Re: Headlamp not working

In January 2015, I made some enquiries with BMW about replacing the Handlebar Switches on my 2012 Model, believing that "prevention is better than cure". At the time, my Bike was under a BMW Used Bike Warranty, don't know if this makes any difference or not. Actually I had called my deale...

Re: Headlamp not working

Hello Guys, So I called the local dealership(Scotland) and explained the fault that I am having with the full beam and flash function. I also mentioned that I had been made aware from other owners that BMW has had a campaign of replacing these switches as an act of goodwill on post 2010 models due ...

Re: MICHELIN Pilot Road 4 GT

I wouldn't worry - they're great tyres.  I've had them on several bikes before (and PR3s before that) My RT came with Metzler Z8s.  They were ok but I was glad when they wore out and I could swap back to my favourites... ;) ;) Apparently all of the new R1200RT's come factory insta...
