RT Radio acting strange

I ride a 2016 Rt and love the bike. I really like the radio since my 2016 GS has none. I have 10 stations pre set on the RT. The first 3 stations are talk radio / news. At least once a week when I get on the bike for a short ride, the first 3 pre set stations are gone. I pre set them and off I go. T...

R1200RT LC upgrade speakers

Does anyone out there know of a better speaker for the RT LC ? I like the radio at times but would really like to have more sound at higher speeds. I do not want to start cutting but would like a swap.

Re: Poll of Tyre Options - R 1200/1250 RT

My first set of tires on my 2016 RT were Z-8's. I only got 4-5,000 miles before they cupped. I am on my 5th set of Michelin Pilot Road 4 GT's and I get 9-10,000 miles on them. I can go into any curve at almost any speed and they hold firm. That is my story and I'm sticking to it.

Re: Seized Torx Bolt

A flat punch and a slight tap at the bottom of the female torx area seems to help.

Re: Possible fluid leak on 2015 RT

I have a 2016 RT with the same issue. There is a recall on the clutch slave. I did have a little dust / fluid buildup before the new slave kit from dealer. It has been clean ever since.

Re: Garmin Updates

I have a Navigation question not related to updates. I have a 2016 RT with a Nav lV. I have a habit of leaving all of my cool places in my RECENTS and not in my SAVED. The other day i wanted to delete a motel and replace another motel. I pushed delete and presto, all RECENTS were deleted. Is there a...

Disc brake pads

I will be changing tires , again, soon and would like to change my front and rear brake pads. I have 45,000 miles and still running the stock front. I have changed the rear pads once. I have a 2016 R-1200RT. What are your suggestions for the best all around pads to purchase?

Re: no neutral

Thanks for all the help. It was the gear selector switch right in front of the back tire behind the transmission. It is now replaced and the GS id off and running again.

Re: no neutral

Well here is an update. I have been riding the bile and I have found a very small neutral. I can play with the shifter and find neutral between 1-2. The trick is that there is no green "N" indicator and the bike kills if you put down the kickstand. It will idle with clutch out but must not...

Re: Werks Quiet Ride vs OEM Windshield

I purchased a Werks Quiet ride for my 2016 RT and it is great. I had them on other bikes and couldn't wait to remove the stock shield. I have 45,000 miles on it now and wash it regularly and it still looks great. Do it now and enjoy.

R-1200RT LC front wheel bearings

I have 45,000 miles on my 2016 RT and need another set of tires soon. Should I be thinking about a new set of front wheel bearings while the wheel is off? How many miles should you get on a BMW > I am an old Harley guy and had a few front wheel bearing failures. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

Re: no neutral

Like I said earlier, I am 72 years young and take very good care of my stuff. I always use the best synthetic oils in all my motors. I am not hard on my bikes and I do not bang the shift lever. This bike (2014 GS) is the smoothest shifting BMW I have ever ridden. It always shifted better than my RT....

That's what I was afraid of. I would imagine this could be a costly repair.
