Re: Clutch and brake fluid change ?

It's just as easy to use the correct "mineral" oil which is Hyspin V10. The BMW Part Number being 21 52 2 455 540. I changed mine a couple of years ago and as SAKM says it can be a bit tricky and requires "back filling" from the Slave Cylinder using a suitable syringe and tubing....

Re: Alternative spark plugs

Yes thank you for highlighting EBAY,but had you read my original post you would have seen I need them TODAY.And who buys plugs of ebay, certainly not me. Blimey, That's me well and truly told. Must make a note to myself to be more diligent in future. Incidentally I have sourced plugs and lots of ot...

Re: Bike balance for tyre changes

I'm sure David has a picture of my own invention which I use to support the bike in this situation, so hopefully he will see this thread and post it. No messing about with scissor jacks or the like. It is a two person contraption though but so simple. Position invention alongside the sump next to th...

Re: Time for New Brake Pads

Be careful using the original Brembo shims on after market pads such as EBC. Check overall thickness dimension. You can have a problem !!.

Re: Cam head left cam tensioner replacement issue

That's strange. The part number for the Tensioner shown on your link (Euromotoelectrics} is the same BMW Part number as shown on the Max BMW Parts Fiche for a 2009 / 2013 RT. which will have been the Tensioner as fitted to your 2010 bike from new. So if this is so it would seem that you have simply ...

Re: Cam head left cam tensioner replacement issue

It will be interesting to know what mileage your bike has covered and did you fit an "after market" tensioner or the BMW one. If it is the BMW item what is the part number. (Is it different to the one you have replaced ?) Also I was under the impression that the the Twin Cam engine has an ...

Re: Cam head left cam tensioner replacement issue

There is a procedure in the Haynes Manual which describes removal of the Tensioners. (Engine in The Frame) Also there are some videos on Utube, unfortunately not for a Camhead although the general procedure will be the same, ie displacement of the Left Throttle Body which I presume you will have don...

Battery Charging.

The Haynes Manual (R1200 D.O.H.C. Twins 2010-2012) specifically states "Do not connect a battery charger to the battery terminals while the battery is on the Bike". As I have always carried out this very procedure (Three R1200RTs) without any known problems I am wondering just what negativ...
