Re: Helite Airbag Safety Vest
I have two Helite hi-viz turtle vests - one for me and one for my wife. The vest goes on over your riding jacket so yes another layer to put on and store when at home or off the bike when out and about. It does restrict the air flow when worn over a mesh jacket, but when worn over my touring jacket ...

LC screen to stay up when ignition turned off
Is there any way I can get the screen of my 2015 LC to stay up when I turn the ignition off?
When I wash the bike I want to wash the instrument side of the screen and that's easier done with the screen up.

Re: Pre-LC comfort seat for sale (UK)
I have a friend with a pre-LC 1200 who paid a lot off money for a BMW comfort seat and then had to pay more to put an Airhawk on it.

Re: oily residue on lower pant leg
This does remind me of very similar occasion when I returned home after a Dealer service. My right boot had a thin film of oil on it. Investigation by me showed that the rubber seal which fits around the spark plug access hole had not been installed correctly. Don’t you just love those skilled BMW ...

Re: 2015 LC
A set (panniers X2 & top box) of inner bags came with the first RT I bought - a 2004 1150RT. I have used those same pannier bags on a 2012 and now a 2015 RT. The top box inner bag from the 2004 is too small for the 2010+ 49L top box. Your 2010 inner bags should be fine for bo...

Re: Navigator V weirdness
When did you get the Urgent Express download. I can't remember any. In the week before I went on the trip I used Garmin Express to update my GPS. That was around the first week in December. My Nav V exhibited the weirdness the next time I used it - which was on my 1500 km trip. When I got...

Re: Navigator V weirdness
No more weirdness. I rang Garmin technical support and told them my story - in particular that the weirdness happened even when there were no way points. They had never heard of such a malfunction. I told them that since arriving home from the weird trip I had downloaded an "Urgent&qu...

Navigator V weirdness
On a just completed trip my Navigator V behaved weirdly. i entered a destination, hit 'Go' and went. Shortly after starting off I noticed that while the map screen showed the route to take, the instructions never progressed. As I got further and further into the ride the ETA got later a...

Re: 2016 RT tank bag suggestions .... (keyless filler cap)
I have the BMW tank bag but only use it for multi-day trips. Putting it on and off is a pain. Instead for day to day use I have a Touratech tail bag. Same size as the BMW tank bag, half the price and doesn't need to be taken off for refuelling. http://i782.photobucket.com/albums/yy...

Re: Rear view mirrors
I have the mirrors Maz12 mentions, on my 2015 RT. It will be obvious once you follow his/her link that you need the adaptors and the Ergo mirrors (see bottom of the linked page.) Vibration isn't so much a problem though they aren't quite as crisp as the fairing mirrors. They are adjustable at 4 diff...

Re: R1200RT LC Screen
Removing 6 (not 4, my mistake) screws and later replacing them without doing any damage is not as difficult as some people think.

Re: R1200RT LC Screen
The really OCD such as myself remove the 4 screws that hold the screen onto the raising/lowering mechanism. Lift off the screen and clean to your heart's content.
