Re: Avoid Shad - wish I'd known!

I've also had good service from Shad even after some problems with my original order.  I did have several issues once the order was received but they rectified them right away.  Issues included broken tab on original custom-paint top box cover for my SH-50 (sent new top panel),wron...

Get yourself some Grip Puppies Steve ... will make a world of difference on those narrow grips.  Clutch engagement is a little far out but you do get used to it  Congrats on the new ride!

Re: Potential Beemer Guy - Advice on pending purchase

I'm 5'6" with similar inseam and took delivery of my 2016 RT back in January.  Although I test rode one with the standard seat, I did have difficulty trying to back the bike up so I went with the low seat.  I can flat-foot the RT in this configuration and don't have any troubl...

Re: 2017 RT availability?

That is odd because I was able to order my 2016 back on October 11th of last year (delivered just after the first of the year).  The BMW Motorrad web site, however, still does not have the 2017 model information available.  I will say that there were basically no 2015's around (wit...

Re: How is the new RT in hot weather?

Not the greatest of pictures but here's the stock screen cut down to 17.5".  I do get plenty of wind on my helmet and upper chest and if I raise the screen I can cut that back considerably.  However, it's still not like riding a naked bike ... the fairing still diverts most of...

Re: Heated seat on an LC RT

I haven't put very many miles on my 2016 (low seat) but I will say the seat doesn't get nearly as warm as the grips do.  I can't keep the grips turned up very far (or for very long) or my hands will feel like I just grabbed he exhaust pipe by mistake (and that's with Winter gloves on).&...
