Re: RT recall fuel pump problems

Hi Sorry to resurrect an old thread but... Stopped at service station to refuel on way for trip up to York and saw petrol dripping onto forecourt. Returned home and stripped off panels to find petrol spray coming from bottom of flange on petrol delivery pipe. Disconnected the union clip in and the w...

Re: No power to instruments or starting

And the problem was-- loose +ve on the battery- Arghh such basic error. Don't know how it had changed between last start up and now. Hasn't moved off the stand.

Oh well at least it is sorted. Ordering multimeter as treat to self.

Thanks

An embarrassed biker. :alas:

Kept Battery topped up over winter and started ok a few weeks ago. Tried recently and nothing when turn key on instruments, lights, starter switch or my volt meter wired into the aux power circuit.  Any ideas before i start with circuit light- Side stand switch has been playing up along wit...

Aux Lights and rear red bullets fitted

Just finished fitting a pair of Aux LEDs and red bullets onto the bike from BikeViz.  Chickened out of interfering with the CANBUS system so took a feed off the spare acessory socket by the headstock to a fusebox so both only come on when ignition on.  If anybody doesnt see me now ...

Re: Headlight Protectors

First thing I bought from Nippy when i bought my bike  - didn't fancy the cost of BMW new headlight unit.  Now got a few chips from stones so can probably justify it has worked well.

Re: 2009 R1200 RTP Radio box

Just some advice on the ex police rtps. There is loads of wiring for the radios lights etc and worthwhile taping up any that are dead as very confusing. Have you found the second battery yet in the tank box? I replaced mine with a smaller capacity battery as it was well past its sell by and it provi...

Re: Motorcycle Live 2017 - freebies, gizzits and bargains

Several of the clothing stands are probably more often at markets and it really irritates to have the full on sales patter. May be doing them a dis-service but I don't like parting with money at the best of times!!

Re: Motorcycle Live 2017 - freebies, gizzits and bargains

Rode to the NEC on Sunday - lovely weather, parked for free inside, short walk to the Halls, £15 ticket off a lady in the queue instead of exorbitant £25 on the day, £30 cheaper than best on Internet set of leather trousers with hip protectors negotiated as a freebie, met up with biker friends down ...

Re: Fitting headlamp bulbs

I  replaced the bulbs in my previous RT with OSRAM Rallye on the probably fallacious assumption that they would be more rugged. Never had to change one. Yep did my RTP left hand no problem. Right top fairing off as loads of ex police wiring in front of cover. Philips 130. Good light very b...

Police Bike Servicing Standards

I have a 2007 1200 RTP ex of Strathclyde Police. Does anyone know what the A, B, C Services / Inspections actually entailed for the police servicing?  Do they correspond to BMW services?

Re: GPS Steering head mount touratech

Just a word of warning. I have just fitted the Touratech yoke mounting with their waterproof case for my TomTom 520. Went out today and couldn't see any detail on the screen due to glare on a sunny day.  So will only not get lost on cloudy days and nights.  If I angle it down too m...

Re: Oil leak in filter area

Had the same problem with a BMC 1500 diesel on a narrow boat. An oil coated engine bay not a pretty sight. My excuse was you had to fit it upside down hanging head down from the deck so couldn't see the little bugger o ring.  Bikes far easier!!
