Re: BMW Streetguard Suits no longer listed in UK?

Got the following from my dealer in case it helps anyone else:-) Peter StreetGuard was indeed one of our top products over the years, but it has more recently been replaced. The construction was three layer laminate and as such the closest product in today’s range would be Moreno. You can find detai...

BMW Streetguard Suits no longer listed in UK?

Hi, looking for the BMW Street Guard suit on the BMW UK web site and I can't see it listed... Is it "end of life"? and does anyone know what the BMW replacement is? I cannot see anything obvious on their web site... Thanks in advance! Peter

Re: Electrics shutdown when I press start button

Everything shutting down when you press the start button could be dodgy switch gear - has been known:-). If it was switch gear, normally turning the ignition off and on again would be enough, so that is a bit confusing! It is weird you need to disconnect the battery to get it to come on again... Unl...

Re: Summer mesh jacket that’s waterproof ?

Easy option would be the BMW Air Shell (I own) or more recent Air Flow jackets, but not cheap, I have never put the waterproof part to a full day riding test, but heard it works well. On longer trips I take a full textile suit with me preferring to sure I am going to be dry and open all the vents in...

Re: schuberth c3 pro Water leakage.

I had that on my C4 Pro recently. Turns out it needed a light "dusting" of silicone or something like Liqui Moly 7182 Rubber Care to allow the visor to easily slip over the seal rather than rub against it too hard and distort the shape. Two benefits, 1) visor clicks fully shut MUCH easier ...

Is this in gear and under load accelerating or revving in neutral/coasting? I'm assuming the engine is warmed up too:-) Peter

Re: Does the GPS/TFT System Accept MyRoute-app Routes?

A lot of good advice above, my observations. BMWs with TFTs seem to load all the "bike" stuff first which makes sense so you can actually start it up! There is a delay before the Bluetooth stack kicks off and then comes WiFi (if you have that option for maps). It can take a while, but most...

Re: Does the GPS/TFT System Accept MyRoute-app Routes?

Depends which 1250:-) early (non TFT) will have/require a dedicated GPS device which will take .GPX files. If it is the later (widescreen TFT) then @Irtax comment is spot on... BMW released a yoke mount for the later TFT 1250s to allow you to fit a dedicated Navi (my preferred option) as an alternat...

Re: Side case Keyless lock not engaging

Had that once, take the carrier off and operate the central locking to check "plunger/piston" is moving on the bike to engage the central locking. Mine had got some crap in there and was not moving fully. Needed a good clean and a bit of silicon spray to loosen it up. Hope that helps, Peter

Re: 2021 Nav system alternate.

Sorry missed this question:-(

Dealer fitted it, it bolts to the underside the yoke with a bolt each side using rubber grommets to insulate the mount. Apparently they had to remove the top part of the yoke to get the bolts in...

Hope that helps, Peter

Re: 2021 Nav system alternate.

Part numbers as requested, prices in UK GBP. I'm guessing (but don't quote me) this might also be used on emergency service vehicles, people like the police have a lot of additional equipment they need around the cockpit... The BMW TFT solution is OK for getting from A to B, however for longer tours...

Re: 2021 Nav system alternate.

An update on the journey I have been on – no pun intended! I ordered the FMS RFI guard as mentioned above, it arrived in good time and looks well made. I was hoping to “modify” it to fit the Wunderlich bracket already installed. However, it required quite a lot of machining to fit (should have broug...

... you can normally adjust the distance in which to keep from the vehicle in front ... ... and the active cruise may keep you further back than you need/want to be Think this is a good summary:-) You have 3 levels of adjustment on the RT system, distant, more distant and a long way back - well in ...
