Re: Common Motorbike Accident Scenarios

Thanks David, it came too close for comfort. The Bikesafe day is well worth the investment as it does give some very practical life safers, particularly on filtering and junctions. Now use them when driving as well, although have to remember not to use the dotted line hash areas in a car for filteri...

Re: Common Motorbike Accident Scenarios

An incident when a rather dumb lorry driver decided to turn into the road I was waiting to turn right out of. The only problem was the angle of the turn would have meant going through me as the the junction was too narrow and he would have needed both sides of the road. I had to turn left to get out...

Re: 2013 RT fuel strip issue - what are indicators?

Hi Panaray, sounds like the service manager is somewhat imprecise. If the fuel reading is out, why replace a pump? The sensor is giving the readout. The strip design looks like it could give false readings if it gums up. Fuel quality or if left to stand for long periods with a low fuel level might n...

Re: 2005 with bad fuel strip

Hi, I had mine replaced under warranty as it was bought from a dealer and came with 12months. Found this on interweb might be a solution. Good luck.

Re: About the brain bucket!

Not sure when they became mandatory but never ridden without one, also on the pedal version and skiing. Most bits of the body can be mended or worst case replaced, unfortunately no ones worked out what to do with a dented brain.

Re: Does this cylinder head cover installs on a 2018 RT?

Not sure if this adds to the discussion on the LC, it may go some way toanswering the question on engineering and heat dissipation. Mine is a twin cam with the BMW head covers on it. The cooling I found was to say the least remarkable even with the covers. I was doing a first gear filtering for abou...

Re: Does this cylinder head cover installs on a 2018 RT?

The one in DS99's photo looks like the Twin cam, it looks similar to the one on mine. The bolts for the head cover are a good indication as they are in different places for the two models, if the exhaust isn't visible.

+1, can tell if they go soft on me or if I over inflated by the ride and I don't rely on the TPMS for the reading more a significant pressure drop. a case of getting to know the bike.

I'm seeing if I can get mine to 10k, 400 to go on  set of Bridgestone BT023, have about 1.6mm left. Only me and a topbox most of the time, so not loaded but ridden reasonably hard within the speed limits:), haven't pulled a wheelie except on a wet white line.

Re: The road to recovery...

My brother in law had his replaced in his early 40's due to numerous offs while racing. Now on his second one which was done under warranty as the previous one came with a recall. He cycles to work pretty well every day, about 40 miles a day, across London. He wants to get back on abike but hasn't g...

Re: tank protectors

I use a Rukka clear film on mine. It comes in a sheet and I've cut it into the shapes I need. So far, put it on the key ring area to stop it scratching, on the side panels stop boot scuffs, a section where the knees sometime touch and the panniers. It's an adhesive film, haven't tried to peel it off...
