I think that the Moreno GTX jacket is the replacement for the Streetguard.
BMW seem to have decided on a move to Gore-Tex for their high-end jackets and the prices ahve increased accordingly.

R1250RT - check your screens
I was bemoaning my fate to a fellow owner of a '20 RT today and he has had the same problem. I removed the screen for a belated clean and then removed the cover beneath, to reveal that one of the lower hinge pins and its circlip had gone walkabout and the other had lost its retaining circlip was was...

Re: Removal of all problem systems...
Just my humble opinion here, but perhaps in some ways all of the new technology has made some of use worse drivers. Personally, I am fond of manual transmissions in all of my vehicles and believe that it has the tendency to make some drivers more attentive and connected. Manual gearbox - one way to...

Re: A French tyre test - A bit long but interesting.
I am delighted that a Bridgestone tyre came out top at Bridgestone test track. Quite the opposite to a result appearing in Motorrad issue 7/2022 where the T32 managed a wet lap time of 1:18.7 compared to a 1:15.1 on the Michelin Road 6GT. However the T32 had the shortest wet braking distance. Motor...

Re: Avon Tyres to Close
I think Cooper own them now, along with Hoosier, the latter seems to be taking over from Avon in 4 wheeled motorsport at a grass roots level Cooper who own Avon have merged with Goodyear who own Dunlop. There will be a rationalisation amonst the brands which will spell the end for most - if not all...

I did have a couple of dark RT's, but am very pleased with my current white example.

Re: Sat Nav
I would not buy the now-obsolete and rather overpriced BMW unit. The Zumo XT has a far higher resolution screen (TFT vs LCD). I sold my Navigator V to move in this direction. I've nothing at all against Tom-Tom - it's just that I've been using Garmin units since before Tom-Tom was a twinkle in its i...

Re: Top box too small
The new LC top-box is sleeker, better-looking, introduces central locking but - crucially for some - is not as tall.
Which is why I still use my be-stickered 2005 top-box. Oh - and I am a tight so-and-so.

Re: 2018 RT cockpit compartment
Thanks for this, but I'll give it a miss as I'm struggling a little with things in the eye line, probably from years of riding naked bikes, or ones with small cockpit fairings, the RT is a real change for me and I'm getting used to it Dreadnought, I'm getting the impression that you don't yet have ...
