Re: Tankbag trouble update

*****Update***** Why is it so bloody difficult to investigate the suitability of a tankbag for a specific bike? I thought it was a legal point that all instrument and switchgear should be visible and free from interference at all times. Is it that the interference issue just isn’t a problem for som...

Re: Latest Nav6 fixed ?

Not many folk on the GS forum are happy with their Nav 6s.

I would go for a Zumo XT (I have one) or look into a mobile phone-based solution.

What year of RT do you have?

Re: Touring tankbag

If possible, it is good to check that the tankbag and bars don't make contact when on full lock. It's helpful whan parking and locking the bike.

It's how I ended up with a SW Motech City bag, despite hoping for something larger.

Re: Carpuride or alternatives - What’s the difference.

I assume you have the 1250RT? Iv'e just bought the w7012b from Carpuride, BUT Its too big to fit in the 'housing' of the 1200! That W702B won't fit onto the 1250RT either. It states on the website that it is only compatable with the GS and XR models that have the freestanding, "open" type...

Re: BMW Streetguard Suits no longer listed in UK?

I think that the Moreno GTX jacket is the replacement for the Streetguard.

BMW seem to have decided on a move to Gore-Tex for their high-end jackets and the prices ahve increased accordingly.

R1250RT - check your screens

I was bemoaning my fate to a fellow owner of a '20 RT today and he has had the same problem. I removed the screen for a belated clean and then removed the cover beneath, to reveal that one of the lower hinge pins and its circlip had gone walkabout and the other had lost its retaining circlip was was...

Re: Removal of all problem systems...

Just my humble opinion here, but perhaps in some ways all of the new technology has made some of use worse drivers. Personally, I am fond of manual transmissions in all of my vehicles and believe that it has the tendency to make some drivers more attentive and connected. Manual gearbox - one way to...

Re: A French tyre test - A bit long but interesting.

I am delighted that a Bridgestone tyre came out top at Bridgestone test track. Quite the opposite to a result appearing in Motorrad issue 7/2022 where the T32 managed a wet lap time of 1:18.7 compared to a 1:15.1 on the Michelin Road 6GT. However the T32 had the shortest wet braking distance. Motor...

Agreed, but what a pain sticking to the 80 kph (50 mph) speed limits!

Did get flashed this summer, but was not going fast enough to get fined.

Re: Avon Tyres to Close

I think Cooper own them now, along with Hoosier, the latter seems to be taking over from Avon in 4 wheeled motorsport at a grass roots level Cooper who own Avon have merged with Goodyear who own Dunlop. There will be a rationalisation amonst the brands which will spell the end for most - if not all...
