Re: Why did BMW change sides for the final drive/muffler

I read somewhere when the LC came along that with the GS models if you were manhandling the bike out of the mire then you were less likely to encounter the hot exhaust. Sounds like a very expensive solution to that 'problem' so may not be true.

Re: pulling my hair out here

You can do a factory reset and pairing yourself as I did it about two years ago, sorry can't remember the details. There is new software and a new phone app so install all that first. I do recall that a certain order of pairing is vital so do a bit of reading up. Good luck.

I don't think the power increase is as much as 160 bhp I read 132. They always save a bit more for the following year's all new model !

Re: BMW Helmet Intercom Bluetooth Pairing to other intercom systems?

I have a Scala Packtalk, it will pair with other makes and I have done it, works fine. Never tried with the BMW one though.

Re: Lithium Battery

I like the idea of a LiOn battery for weight saving and ease of manoeuvring it into place but they can be fussy about charging and indeed catch fire or explode if not happy, so I think I'll leave it.

Re: Accessing inside headlight unit

If it proves to be too complicated, you could always attach a piece of garden hose to a vacuum cleaner and hoover it out.

Re: French speed limits

Always avoid France on the way to Spain by taking the ferry to Bilbao/Santander, love France but it's too expensive when just passing through, now they will find a new income stream as well.

Have a look at the latest MOT rules, as I understand it they have to have wash and self levelling, certainly for cars, otherwise a fail.

I don't think I'd trust Li Ion yet, they can get a bit flammable in certain circumstances , I can imagine the insurance company would welcome a way out.

Re: Considering a used r1200rt (14-17)

I had a GTL before my '16 RT, it's heavy, the gearbox was rubbish (now addressed, apparently.) It eats tyres and steering joints. The finish on the engine and running gear must have been done with water colour paint as it peels off. Depreciation was rapid owing to all of the above. On the plus side ...

Re: Back2TheBike Training #1 - Biker Down workshop, Saccadic Masking and Safety Mod

There's quite a lot of discussion on here and elsewhere regarding reflectors or reflective tape, as I understand it reflected light is treated the same as light, ie no white at the rear. However if the material is on clothing of the rider that is not part of the vehicle and doesn't count. I have eve...

Just tried GE on my PC , 'Could not install' , I wonder if the is a problem with the software as my PC is on Win 10 'creators update' All updates have been done and nothing else fails. Maybe Garmin will sort it in time, Version was 5.9.0.0

Re: CLUTCH CHATTER

The OPs bike is pre liquid cooled and has, as stated by RTman, a dry clutch, LCs have a wet clutch. No similarity. A little bit of clutch chatter is not uncommon on many vehicles.
