I use a battery tender cord and a adapter. This way it does not fail on a cold day. I have had heated clothing fail at 18f. Burr!!!

Having had that switch apart I would think that it would be susceptible to water getting on the circuits. I would think that a waterproofing agent would help. I have a spray but can't find it.

I ride with the low beams and the LED fog lamps on at all times. This gives a good triangle. The K1600 has Clearwaters set at 50% as not to blind someone the RTP has BMW LEDs.

I will be using the BMW LEDs on my RTP do to the integration with the rest of the lights. On my K1600 I have Clearwater Darlas and Ericas with a Canopener. The Clearwater package is far better then the BMW LEDs or the Denalis that were on my KLR.
