Does anyone know if you can raise the headlight aim in addition to the lever under the headlight itself?
Remove left side fairing, 2 screws and a couple of snaps.

Re: Brighter Low Beam, anyone?

I put H7 & H1 Phillips Extreme Vision +130 (130% claimed increase in distance) in all 3, but cannot comment on their effectiveness. I did not remove the left fairing Tupperware to properly adjust the beam height until after the bulbs were replaced.

Re: Disc lock.

If you are concerned about forgetting to remove a disc lock, not that it ever happened to me, get one with an alarm. I have a Xena that has a shock and motion detector that beeps several warnings then lets loose a 120 dB alarm.

Re: Updated 2017 K1600GT

My '04 FJR was purely analogue and, like Levisp, I did not have a GPS.  I did use my little bottle of Cerulean touch up to paint the bugs on the speedometer.  Very stylish.

Re: Updated 2017 K1600GT

Levisp, for a trip to Canada I painted bugs on my speedo at 40, 80, 120 & 160 kph so I could just glance down and not tax my brain with the math.

I do wish the gauge was digital as the speed digits are replaced with sound system info when on; but of course never the tach.
On Qu'noS it is in kellicams per hour.

Re: Experience with BMW's Bluetooth Communication System.

Try setting Loudness to Off in the Audio menu. Makes a large improvement to Bluetooth quality, especially with my flash drive. After shutting Loudness off I changed my treble & bass from -4 to +4. Prior to that, any bass setting above -4 would start adding distortion.

Re: How do you unclip the low beam headlight bulb?

If I would have consulted this forum first, I might not have tried this myself, but probably would have anyway.  Replaced all 3 bulbs at one time and had no problem taking the clips off.  Putting them back on was a completely different story.  There is a technique to repla...

Re: 2016 R1200RT LC clutch master cylinder recall

It is my understanding that all manufacturers have to post recall info on their sites.  BMW’s is at the bottom of their page.  I found 2 TSB’s for the 2014, none for 2015 or 2016.  Obviously there could be more. http://www.bmwmotorcycles.com/us/en/index.html https://www.au...

Re: Crash protection

You got to accept the risk for the reward.  The tradeoff here is aesthetics versus safety of the cylinder heads.  No doubt in anyone’s mind that no guards is the best looking.  If you feel you need the Forth Bridge (gotta love that reference) then so be it.  My ch...

As a dedicated follower of fashion, I got the dealer to throw these zylinderkopfhaubenschutze in when I bought the bike.

Re: Windscreen

Great analysis, thanks.  Without all the wind tunnel data and a supercomputer, the only, and still the best way to know is to ride with each in different conditions.  I like the idea of a shorter than stock windscreen and will go with the 24.

Re: Windscreen

I am 6 foot and after reading all the threads,  have pretinear decided to go with the 24 inch Werks.  Looking at the diagram, the 26 inch is shorter than the outside edges of the stock windscreen.  What would be better, a 24 raised up, or 26 raised less with the top edge o...
