Re: Touring abroad

Must admit it like flying solo on the bike.  It's usually only a couple of short breaks each year, but the break from timescales around work, family, home, etc is nice.  Don't get me wrong, life's great (even more great when I finally can afford to retire) but a little solo trip is...

Re: Hill Assist

I quite like it, not a 'must have' for me though.  It seems to be most useful when sat at traffic lights on a bit of a slope.  Just remember it is NOT a parking brake  :))

Re: Identity Tag

Anyone tried out the 'Realrider' app thingy that came with some new BMWs?  Got my bike last July and still not registered mine!  Apparently it knows when you crash and call the emergency services if you don't move for a while.  Great if you are within signal range!

Re: RTWC Mirrors

I stick by my old mantra that it does not matter whose fault an 'off' may be, they all hurt. My only vengeful act filtering was to return a fag butt to its rightful owner, still lit, after it appeared on my tank bag. Was trickling up to a roundabout between two lanes at walking pace when the miscrea...

What would you like to know?

Just wondered if you had made any more tweaks, or are happy with the solution in the last vid.  It's a brilliant idea - thanks!

Re: Still no locking system or gadget???

At the risk of leaving the gate open so that they all wander out and start fighting again, I saw this during a bored youtube session: https://youtu.be/R2ngQD2zj0w

All looks remarkably simple and cheap to do.  Any comments?  James, are you among us?

Re: BMW Streetguard

My 7 years old Hein Gericke suit (100% waterproof - always) is getting a bit tired so I tried on a Rukka suit at the NEC - I must be an odd shape because it was not that comfortable.  After a good root about, Halvarssons seemed a good alternative.  Trying to track them down right n...

Re: Riding position advice

I wonder if it's about being a bit tense on a new bike.  Something I suffered from back in July when the new RT came along the replace the 1300GT.  One day I was out having fun and noticed that there were none of the concerning aches and pains from previous rides.  My theo...

+1 for Nikwax visor proof.  Seems to build up a good coating after a few uses too.

Re: Much tears...

Ooh feel for you mate.  My only to drops have been at 0mph.  The first was when the 1200GT's dodgy fuelling (my excuse) made it stall on a steep uphill T junction (broken footrest and scrapes) the other when I dropped the K1300GT on the drive while washing it and missed the side st...

Re: Navigator V weirdness

RTman10 is right.  I did a day long round trip, but started off  along a slightly different route that that originally planned.  It kept trying to bring me back.  Cured it by stopping navigation, then restarting and selecting the next point I actually wanted to re...

Re: Rain? Road? Dynamic? ... Or mix it a bit?

Another dynamic/normal vote.  I use Rain when it's bad.  I usually jack the preload up one.  Use Comfort/Soft on motorways although it can cause a bit of 'ocean swell' feeling now and then.
