Re: Sargent seat heating

An update:  Well there's actually no update.  I've been chasing Sargent UK since January and they say they are still waiting for an update from US.

Re: Seats

I have a 2016 too.  The heated seats work but take forever to warm up.  I thought mine didn't work too!  It takes about 20 miles......

Re: Visor Down?

I've got a Neotec.  What works for me is having the chin vent open and just below the air coming off the top of the screen; nice breeze and no misting.  On mine that means the screen is a third to a half up.  If I have the screen any lower and the chin vent is right out in...

Re: RT for 2021

Looks like a worthwhile upgrade from my '16 1200.  Like the TFT, there will be a lot of Nav 5 and 6s going on eBay!

Re: how long do a set of tyres last???

Usually around 8k for me on PR4GTs.  First set of PR5GTs in at the moment and they still look good at about 4k.  I use them until they go a funny shape or feel bad, because then the fun is less.  That's usually before they are down to the limit.

I agree.  There's no fixed life on these.  Just keep checking and keep the pressure washer away.

Re: Additions

Yes I can vouch for it.  Fitted to my 2016 with no real issues, just take your time with the wiring routing.  I think mine went under the fuel tank shell.  In a moment of lockdown madness I bought the full kit from NN with the horn and rear light.  I went for the ...

Re: IAM RoadSmart advanced motorcycling test...

No help to you, but our group will allow one of our RoSPA diploma holders or our IAM examiners to check ride and approve anyone who holds IAM longer than 3 years and haven't been reassessed. Good luck, you will find Blood Biking very rewarding. Just to add, during the pandemic, we were not allowed ...

Re: Heated seat on an LC RT

I did have a conversation going with them pre-lockdown. Did the necessary tests etc to prove it had failed, but the responses seem to have dried up.  Not hassling the guy too much in the circumstances, but I'll resurrect the conversation if there's a known issue with these seats.

Re: Heated seat on an LC RT

Another request (sorry to divert attention).  ANyone know who can fix heated seats in UK?  I've a Sargent that does not heat up and after all the tests it has been decided that it needs repairing.  Thanks.

Re: IAM RoadSmart advanced motorcycling test...

Just waiting on my IAM Group to come back on doing an assessment ride.  Been trying to get into the local Bloodbikers and have been surprised how hard it is to volunteer one's time, tyres, fuel etc in a good cause.  A lot of this happened in lock down and I thought they'd be really...

Re: BMW advising exhaust valve sticking needing new headers at £1200+

I think we need to set up a rota for checking Beagle's welfare.  If BMW find out that he's found a way to thwart their little money-making scheme of making people buy new headers then, well, you never know.  You know what I'm sayin'....

Re: Mixing Tyre Manufactures !!

I got caught a few years back in Scotland on my K13GT with a knackered front and could only find a Metzeler to go with the Michelin on the back.  It rode fine, but then again I never had to try it in an extreme situation.  Funny harmonic hum from what I assume was two different tre...

Re: Werks Quiet Ride vs OEM Windshield

As you say the OEM screen is not too bad - but the Werks Quiet Ride is much better (in my opinion anyway).  With the screen full down I get a smooth airflow over the helmet and a good flow through its vents.  Raising it a bit keeps bugs off the visor and raising it a bit more bring...
