Hi The commute depends on which office I'm going to  nearest one  then its around 12 miles across the center of Manchester  Usually about 30 mins or so.  Head office is  around 1 hour.  I use the bike as if I take the car I can double the travell...

wrong side of the pond, but I use mine as a daily commute across Manchester UK  (AKA Rainy city UK)

Yes it is a double microswitch and it had failed just fitted the replacement 15-20 min job and now it works as it should

It will if you pull the clutch in and its in gear Nope it wont  Clutch switch seems to be working OK  ( Pull clutch with cruse on and it disengages cruse ) Side stand switch stops the engine if extended whilst in gear. I try not to stall the bike, but it anyone has any suggestions...

My 2017 wont start unless its in neutral not sure what the problem is  Its not the side stand or clutch switches they work OK, its not that big of a deal so I just put up with it.

Agreed, observing & coaching others is a great way to maintain your own skills. As an observer, do you yourself have a check ride once a year. I'm an LOA so my skills are checked every three years by the local ASDM just about to be checked again this month. In addition there are 4 LOAs in the g...

I continue to support the Manchester group. Doing it gives me two weekends a month getting out for a ride, and it keeps my riding skill at an acceptable level.

Not sure.  I had a couple of observed rides where my assessment scored had not improved so I asked for the observer's input.  His response began with "Well, I can see you have issues with your riding......." and generally went downhill from there so I never bothered with...

there are several different test schedules within the IAM


Fellow  every three years
Masters  every 5 years
National observer every 5 years
Local observer assessor every 3 years

I had a problems with a Triumph Sprint GT, turns out there was a problem with the tolerances within the starter motor. Triumph changed it under warranty  had no further problems in 30K+
