You might want to try again, or at least look at the current version. It has been 40 years…

Re: Hand guards on r1200rt

Sometimes called elephant ears, or handle bar muffs. Wunderlich makes them (expensive), Oxford Rain Seal (may no longer be available), or Hippo Hands.

Re: Motoscan app for iOS?

I use MotoScan as well; unless something has changed it’s only an Android app at this time. Some of us have bought cheap Android phones just to use that app; for many of us (and how we use it) it’s less money at the end of the day than a GS 911. Re: Coronavirus

I don't wear a mask, but as I took off my helmet before going food shopping I realized that I should just flip down my modular helmet's face plate.  I doesn't do much to protect me, but might prevent me from infecting someone else. Many businesses might view the helmet as an indicator of a...

Re: Diagnostic

You might want to consider another option. There is an Android application that can do most or all of what you need, plus it is compatible with your car too. Motoscan is the app specifically for the BMW series of bikes. The website is https://www.motoscan.de. The site is in German, but if you paste ...

Re: Auxiliary lights

I really like the idea of fork mounted lights since they turn with the wheel to show the curve, but wonder about the mounting brackets.  The clamps are only about half the diameter of the forks.  With a bit of rubber stripping inside the clamps and longer bolts with spring washers...

Re: Question :- can anyone please tell me how to switch off my headlights ?

Tho' I find it maddeningly difficult to change bulbs on my RT, I wouldn't advise you  to turn them off.  It has been shown, even with cars but especially with bikes, the incidence of accidents during the day goes down precipitously if your headlights are on.  I also put m...

Re: Nav v time

If you phone Garmin's support and tell them the date is out they will put you on the mailing list for when a update is available, as for the time untick auto box and manual set for the time being Much, much easier to do on their website. No holding, no computer voices.  Go to https://suppo...

Re: My latest RT

Nice!!  Are they the standard BMW lights?  Been considering fitting Denali lights but they mount up near the indicators.  I reckon that makes then pretty vulnerable if you drop the bike, and they could cause more damage to the Tupperware. I have the Denali lights. You can...

Varies by state, but generally yes, when they are the appropriate color for the appropriate situation.

R1200RT-P pod lights

I am looking for used authority bike forward/side lights to put on my bike for escort work.  The lights themselves do not need to function; I will be replacing the LEDs with a different color.

Anyone have an idea where I can get them?

Re: Denali LED driving lights & RT radio interference ?

I'm starting the winter project - a fully loaded R1200RTSE twincam with the audio and GPS pack.  I've been looking at and researching led auxiliary driving lights, most likely Denalis of some sort. It seems that some RT riders who have the audio pack  and then fitted additional le...

Re: Starting issue

Sounds like the clutch microswitch playing up - it should start in gear, sidestand up, clutch pulled in. The switch sometimes fails, but more often than not its caked in road crap and just needs a good clean. A good squirt of contact cleaner into the switch might sort it, although the problem may r...

Nope. Has to be in neutral. It will start in neutral with the clutch in or out.
