Re: Navigator V

It's a bit of a long shot but do you have a lot of USB devices plugged in? I had a fair few on my Mac, including a USB-3 hub - which it turns out uses a lot more USB 'resources' than USB-2. Although I never got to the bottom of my problem I had started to think that it was down to hitting the limit ...

Re: Still no locking system or gadget???

It will be one of the first mods I carry out on my bike when it arrives (less than two weeks now)  ;D

Re: Navigator V

I think there is something odd that came in with one of the fairly recent OS X (or macOS as it is now) releases. I have never had any problems with my Nav V (almost 2 years of ownership) and then all of a sudden I had exactly the same problem you described - the Mac refused to recognise the SD card....

Re: Aux fusebox on new RT LE - dealer or fit self?

I'm assuming it's the same as on my 2013 GS. I used the +vs connector next to the battery and earthed via the frame. No need to mess with the battery at all.

Re: Aux fusebox on new RT LE - dealer or fit self?

I was fed up with trying to recall what length screws went were, so made this template up, I laminated the sheets, then went to hobbycraft and got some A1 foam board sheets, and glued them together and drilled into the blue circles to push the bolts through. Much easier than trying to recall where ...

Re: Aux fusebox on new RT LE - dealer or fit self?

Thanks. The more I think about it the more inclined I am to just do it myself. Aside from any other argument, if the dealer did agree to do it they would probably keep the bike for days and that's time that I could be out riding the bike. Plus, given that I will have to strip the bike down to fit th...

Re: Still no locking system or gadget???

Excellent video, thanks. I now have a much better understanding of how it works. I realise this may not be possible (without removing the lock from the bike) but are you able to confirm what the barrel length (depth) is of the lock you have fitted? There seem to be quite a few 'miniature' cam locks ...

Aux fusebox on new RT LE - dealer or fit self?

I plan to have an auxiliary fusebox on my new LE. This will run an Innovv camera system, some USB charging ports, plus possibly my intercom if I decide not to stick with the Bluetooth route. I have ordered a 'fuzeblock' panel - my question is whether I should fit this myself or pay the dealer to do ...

Re: Still no locking system or gadget???

Has anyone ever tried to mount the lockable NAV V mount used in the GS onto the RT LC. Perhaps an Aluminium block to bring the mount forward so the key can be used. Just a thought... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Can't remember if it was on this forum or elsewhere but I did see a thread from a c...

Thanks for that. I'm another one that has been using Garmin Express for years and until now I just assumed it updated itself.

Re: Still no locking system or gadget???

All, sorry if you were wanting to do this mod. I really did not mean to offend, I was just making a statement that I thought it was a lot of work for a small issue. I apologise to Octatonic if he ever reads this and would ask him to provide the info again in this thread as others would benefit. Hap...

Re: Still no locking system or gadget???

Thanks. It doesn't look too complicated. Once I have my bike I will take the cover off and check it out for myself. I'm also looking at this from a convenience perspective. Currently I have a GS with a lockable mount for the Nav V. Having it lockable gives me the confidence that anyone who wants to ...

Re: Still no locking system or gadget???

That looks like an excellent modification. I'm very tempted to do the same to my new bike - although I am a little concerned about whether there would be any 'kick off' about warranty. You mentioned being willing to post up some dimensions. I would certainly be very interested to understand more abo...

Re: What have you got planned for 2017

My parents live on the southern edge of the Sierra Nevada mountains in Spain. For the past few years I have kept talking about taking a couple of weeks off in the summer to ride down to them via France, do some touring using their house as a base, and then back home again. As I will have the RT unde...

Re: Experience with BMW's Bluetooth Communication System.

I use an Autocom Logic.  You can get them for rider only or for two.  Difference is an extra headset and cable.  These would cost you more bought separately.  The audio unit is connected directly to the Autocom unit with a cable Pt number 2273.  If you w...
