Re: New to the RT: tips?

I have my bike for a little more than a year now and I've done over 16K kilometers on it. The best accessory I bought is a sidestand enlarger. By far the most usefull thing ever. For the rest just enjoy the ride as much as you can.

Re: Curious & random strating problem

I had this a few times when I first had the bike. If you let I cycle through its self test you should wait until the check engine light is off and then start the bike. Since I do this I never had my bike resetting itself. Hopefully this helps you as well. I think the checks are a massive drain on th...

Re: R1200RT vs R1200RS

I drive all year round, and on the very rare hot days here in belgium I van still manage 8 hours or more. I wear à cooling vest and summier gear. I only find the airflow to the hands lacking.

I think the range of the fod for the keyless ignition is under 1m.

It is, if I take something out of the topcase then it's already out of range.

Re: Priority a droit whilst motorcycling in France

I think there is a very good reason for Belgians always travelling at high speed on their motorways.  It's to try and fly over instead of vanishing into the many huge pot holes, some which have been there for years. It's not the potholes, we really don't want a third national hobby: Traffi...

Also if you come up to an intersection and you're not sure you have the right of way make sure to slow down. Better be safe than sorry.
I live in Belgium myself and it happens a lot that they think they can just squeeze in. It's not the best way to test your brakes

Re: Still no locking system or gadget???

I just stick it in the left side compartment. It fits without the case and then I lock the bike if I'm taking a quick pitstop. Otherwise I take it off completely.

Re: BMW Audio and Navigation via Starcom digital

Quick question (as this is something I am considering doing down the road). When you say 'disable bluetooth on the Nav' is there a way to disable to audio so it goes via the sound system but retain the SmartLink connection? Losing the SmartLink for traffic routing would be a major downside in my op...

Re: BMW Audio and Navigation via Starcom digital

Try turning the bluetooth off on the navigator V. Then the instructions should go trough the audiosystem if it's in the cradle.

Re: BMW Streetguard

I have a streetguard outfit and i'm still very happy with it. It's comfortable, completely waterproof and if you wear it you don't feel it at all.
I had some problems with water getting in trough the elbows and knees but I got a compete exchange under waranty.
I would definitely recommend it.
