Re: Instrument add-ons

Well, it finally posted but it posted upside down. I have no clue why. Sorry.

Re: Instrument add-ons

By the way Michael, I had to use an additional 45 degree adapter affixed to the bikes sender adapter fitting to get the sender to clear the engine cases, As the sender arrived with 1/8 NPT threads, I had to make sure the initial adapter that screws into the engine block would accept that thread pitc...

Re: Instrument add-ons

Ok. For any of you that decide to add instruments, such as an oil pressure gauge and volt meter to your RT, I finished mine and it appears to function fine. I chose to go with VDO gauges and opted for the electronic oil pressure gauge, because a mechanical gauge which requires a feed line from the c...

Instrument add-ons

Good Morning, I picked up  2005 RT in great condition a few months ago and am seriously considering adding an oil pressure gauge and voltmeter to the bike. The only gray area so far in the planning is in trying to determine what the thread pitch of the factory oil pressure sending unit mig...

Re: My RT may be haunted

Haunted seems to be rather accurate. I'm an old guy and remember well the days when I could repair, readjust or otherwise cajole a problem into submission on the side of the road with a handful of easily available tools. These days, such requires a backpack full of diagnostic equipment, spare parts ...

Re: My RT may be haunted

Found the ghost. Turns out it was my own fault. When I was splicing the new headlight plug pigtail, I had to move the cruise control module out of the way. On reassembly, the edge of the cable housing on the cruise control throttle actuator cable got caught on the edge of the rubber dust cover which...

Re: My RT may be haunted

Thanks, but I've tried going through the reset procedure four times. Still got the ghost. I'm sure it's something simple that I'm overlooking. At least I hope it's something simple.

My RT may be haunted

Good afternoon. My name is Bill Rhegness and this is my first post to this board. I ride a 2005 R1200RT. Today, after repairing a faulty headlight plug using a new pigtail and reassembling the Tupperware, I started the bike to check the function of the headlights. The previously great running bike ...
