Re: Is it some sort of law?

I waited months for the beginning of the season in 1998, new bike and about to get my license. Got riding license on 27 March. Rain for five weekends solid. Never happened since to my recollection.
So yes, you might be right... ;)

Re: 2018 Cornwall Tour

Ehm, perhaps a dumb observation but just to be sure: the complete posts are all out, 9 reports, one per day. If you go on the page directly they don't "scroll", you need to click for the next post at the bottom of the page. If you go directly to the home page you will find all posts in rev...

2018 Cornwall Tour

Hi all,
I have published a travel blog of my Cornwall tour in April.
The first post is here

and it obviously goes on from there (9 days in total).
I hope you will enjoy...
Thanks

Re: 20019 RT

Like the bird! ^-^ But it would be possible to do the same thing with the boxer, right? That is, having the cylinders fire in such an order that the boxer twin sounds more like a V twin? Honestly, much as I like my present bike, if BMW made a Tourer with such an engine I would run to buy it and neve...

Re: 20019 RT

Yes I meant that. For example making the engine fire 270 degree firing order like, I think, Triumph did with their twins. I seem to have read somewhere at least the scrambler of the RnineT series has this and it sounds better. EDIT: I have found this concerning Triumph "The parallel twin is cu...

Re: 20019 RT

Am I wrong of at least some of the RnineT series (the scrambler?) have a different firing order?

Re: 20019 RT

Hi, no Akrapovich on my bike but I never heard a water cooled boxer with Akrapovich that satisfied me. I also have (and have had) several Guzzis and that deep, gurgling twin sound is what I am looking for. Triumph twins and Harleys are making an excellent work of this even with Euro 4, and I like In...

Re: 20019 RT

Personally I don't think the power is the issue. For me at least, the main issue is the fact that the engine sounds like a depressed chainsaw. If they made the aural experience more interesting, as they did with the air-cooled boxer engine, this for me would me a much better incentive to swap my RT ...

Re: Changing battery - 2014 R1200RT

Many, many thanks David! So if I want to try to jump start the battery I will use "that little screw on the right hand side with a red cable attached to its lest and another little cable on its right the "positive post?" I am assuming that was right, but again I prefer to be safe. Als...

Re: Changing battery - 2014 R1200RT

As I am abusing of your patience already, which maintenance-free battery would you suggest for the 2014 R1200RT? I'd like to avoid spending more for the "branded" product if I can.
Thanks

Re: Changing battery - 2014 R1200RT

Many thanks David and please forgive my awful ignorance (I am really bad at these things!) as I still struggle to understand how things work. I can see the negative terminal, but is that little screw on the right hand side with a red cable attached to its lest and another little cable on its right t...

Changing battery - 2014 R1200RT

Dear all, I am a very satisfied owner of a model 2014 R1200RT, bought used by me around one year ago. Last Sunday the battery abandoned me in my garage, dying suddenly on me (no electricity in the garage, I have ridden with the bike every three weeks all winter to avoid issues, none until Sunday). A...
