Re: Led Headlight conversion

Headlight reflectors are designed for specific bulbs to throw the light where it needs to be. If you fit an LED bulb, as the light is spread over several chips and not a single source, the spread by the reflectors will be terrible. The only way to overcome this is a total conversion complete with r...

Re: Led Headlight conversion

The indicators and tail light are LED on mine but I  am disappointed the headlights are not.
If the LED’s are sold for my model then you would think they would be suitable or am I being naive?

Re: Led Headlight conversion

No but I'd love to know what the difference is between these and Nighteye bulbs, which I've put in one of my other bikes. These appear to be very bright and have good throw / pattern - but that might be the quality of the reflector. A few years ago I put some LEDs in a Harley and they were bright, ...

Re: BMW Warranty

For BMW to honour the warranty I think there has to be a sudden oil loss associated with the oil light warning otherwise they must assume the bike has been run for a greater period with low oil which as has been mentioned may not be adequate enough for engine protection at speed.

Re: BMW Warranty

I think it would strengthen your case if there was a sudden oil loss which was a warranty issue in itself then it would not be a maintenance issue.

Re: BMW Warranty

BMW may mean that when the oil light comes on there is insufficient oil to maintain adequate lubrication ( breakdown of oil due to temperature) at speed. The same will apply at the point just before the light comes on so although there is no oil light on there is insufficient oil.

Re: Exhaust flap

I dont believe wear is the problem in fact the opposite. Carbon buildup and corrosion leads to seizure.

I fit an Akrapovic silencer recently and saw the valve when I removed the original. Arent the pivot points visible then?
