Re: RAM mounts for mobile phones

I've added the ram mount, 3" extension thingy, and the Ram-compatible ball fixing for the Ultimate Add-ons case I was given by a mate. Haven't tried it on the road with my phone actually in the case yet, but am very pleased with how it's all come together. [attach=1] [attach=2] [attach=3] [atta...

Re: RAM mounts for mobile phones

Great, thank you all. Will update once I have it sorted, and add pictures of my own.

Re: RAM mounts for mobile phones

I used that RAM Motorcycle Handlebar Clamp Base (RAM-B-367U) on one of the handlebar mounting bolts and a short double socket arm to mount my Garmin GPS.  It's down low, between the handlebars and doesn't obscure my view of the dash at all. Great. Is it an M8 fitting then? Think I need a n...

RAM mounts for mobile phones

Interested to see how others have mounted their mobile phones into their bikes. I'm looking to start using my phone more for navigation on my 2010 RT, and am keen to have it mounted centrally on the bike if possible. I think a mate is giving me a waterproof case, which needs a RAM ball (or similar) ...

Re: Wanted: aftermarket screen for 2010 RT

You're probably right, the tall one is 1.5" higher & 2.5" wider than the standard VStream screen. At 5' 10", I'm the same height as you, the tall screen came from a taller rider's bike. It was local, a good price & works for me. Another bonus of a taller screen is being able ...

ZTechnik VStream Screens - swap a tall for a short?

Having found a ZTechnik VStream available nearby, I snapped it up, as I didn't find the stock screen on my 2010 RT as effective as I would like and second hand VStream screens seem to be very rare. I think it measures about 27" from top to bottom, which I believe makes it the tall version. Howe...

Re: Minimum DIY maintenance

Thanks for that Pete, very encouraging! The two key issues at the moment are a 2 month old baby meaning I don't have any time, and the lack of a garage in which to do the work!

However, no doubt both those issues will be resolved in the future, at which point I am keen to have a go.

Re: Minimum DIY maintenance

Well I'll try and rinse it down, but I'll be commuting daily so certainly won't be washing it after every ride!

Good to know about the pads, thanks. I'd already noticed that I use the rear on this much more than my previous Tiger Sport!

Re: Wunderlich Engine Crash Bars and Denali Auxiliary Lights

Denali auxiliary lights - I just had a set of Denali auxiliary lights installed by my BMW dealer service department and I must give Denali some prof's.  The D2 LED lights mounted at two points, one just below each mirror and I had DM 2.0 lights mounted just above the front fender off the f...

Re: Minimum DIY maintenance

Excellent, just the types of responses I was hoping for!

What about winter riding, any trouble spots to look out for when cleaning it? Would normally look to give it a thorough cleaning and dose of ACF50 before any salt hits the roads, then a weekly clean and ACF50 top-up thereafter.

Minimum DIY maintenance

Hi all, I'm a relatively new motorcyclist (had my license 20 months) and a very new RT owner (bought my 2010 model 3 days ago!). I'm very much not a mechanically-minded person, and find that neither mechanical not electrical things come particularly easily to me. However, I'm just wondering what bas...

Wanted: crash bars/cylinder head guards for 2010 RT

I'm more than a little concerned about the prospect of dropping my new bike, which currently has no protection for the sides. I'm not yet sure whether I'll be riding with the panniers on, but imagine I'll need the rear bars to protect those too if I do, and don't know whether bars or cylinder head c...

Re: Wanted: aftermarket screen for 2010 RT

Thanks for that - I would ideally hope for something which maintains a breeze when lowered, but guess there'll always be a compromise! I did like the way I could pitch the stock screen to blow the rain off my visor this morning, so if I went with a Ztechnik then I guess the standard height one might...

Wanted: aftermarket screen for 2010 RT

Hi all, new to the forum, and new to RT ownership! Took delivery of a 2010 model yesterday. Really pleased with it so far, but having test ridden a Pan European before settling on the RT, I'd like a bigger screen which provides better protection - the Pan's screen was like a barn door! I'm about 5'1...
