Re: Pannier Handle fails to lock

Have a look at this video.
It's for a K1600, but the cases are identical.

Re: Aux socket draining the battery?

Sounds like a good idea.
Hopefully, as you mentionned, it will trick the CanBus.

Re: Aux socket draining the battery?

So I guess it's back to the drawing board for me. I just want a USB cable concealed in the left "glove" box of the fairing that's on and off with the engine. Can't be that hard without resorting to HEX-Can and stuff like that that seams overkill to me? I just hate untidy cables so using a ...

Re: Aux socket draining the battery?

Ok, I checked a little more and it turns out the power is still on on the power socket even with the bike turned off for hours. How can that be? Is it normal behaviour on this bike/model? I have a Motoscan. Is there a setting I can change to tell the bike to cut the power to this circuit when the en...

Aux socket draining the battery?

Hi all! On my 2014 R1200RR (LC / K52), I added a USB charging port by repurposing the Hella plug on the throttle side fairing. I disconnected the wires at the back of the Hella plug and connected a 12v-to-5v USB adaptor. After completing the instal, everything worked fine so I buttoned everything up...

Re: Self-service R1200 RT

I like to do most of the maintenance myself. I use a combination of the wisdom from Boxflyer as previously mentionned and also JVB videos I purchased on his website. Although his videos are not the latest and greatest in video and audio quality, his descriptions and explanations are very clear and h...

Re: Buying a 2005 R1200RT advice

Make sure the clutch isn't slipping or acting funny. It's a huge job to change a clutch on a 2005-2013 RT. Also, if the bike had its ABS module removed, I would expect the price to reflect that significantly. I've ridden bike without ABS for decades and survived just fine. But given the choice, I no...

Re: Hand grip aftermarket

I just installed GripPuppies on my RT. Still adjusting to it but I think once used to it, I'll keep it. A to installing them, I read somewhere that Purell (or any other alcohol-based hand sanitizer) worked great. I liked this option as contrary to soapy water, it doesn't contains any ingredients tha...

Re: Getting rid of speakers

Thanks! Greatly appreciated! Something less in the way when changing the lights (and a few good pounds less in the process!) Do bikes without speakers from the factory simply have a void in there or do they come with some sort of casing / cover? I understand all bikes come with the speakers grill bu...

Getting rid of speakers

Hi all! This is my first post but I've looked around quite a lot lately as I purchased a couple of months ago a 2005 R1200RT. Lots of great information that helped make my mind and buy this bike. I haven't been able to ride it very much so far as it's winter here in Canada but I'm looking forward to...
