Re: Fuel Strip

Not done it yet, I'll wait until winter and then strip it all down & replace. Just using the trip meter for the moment.

Oh, yes I have a GS911 tool to do the calibration too :-)

Re: Fuel Strip

Hi, thanks for the info. Yes I watched that first video, seems pretty straightforward. I think I'll just buy the new fuel strip and replace it.

Thx

Fuel Strip

Hi all.  My 2005RT left me stranded yesterday on a ride out through Wales.... on the way home it died, I suspected a fuel problem straight away, and I was right it was dry... annoying thing was that the gauge still showed 1/4 of a tank and it read 110 miles to empty.  I'm guessing ...

Re: GS911 scan

Just an update on this. I invested in the correct OBD Bluetooth interface, adaptor cable and Motoscan Ultimate app + a used Android tablet.  Recalibrated my ESA and it all works fine now  :) So if anyone in my area needs any faults reading and resetting for a reasonable fee, please...

GS911 scan

Hi, anyone in the Stoke on Trent, Staffs or  South Cheshire areas with a GS911 and wants to earn a few easy £££ I need to get my fault codes read and ESA calibration checked on my 2005 RT. My rear pre-load adjuster has stopped working, I can however drive it to both its limits by appling +-...

Sargent Seat

For sale  Rider & Passenger heated Sargent seat for 2005-2013  R1200RT  Low version Excellent condition. Bought by mistake, as I didn't realise it was a low version until I got it home, and I need a standard height seat as I'm pretty tall.  Just looking to re-...

Re: Start up Issue

As a test I decided to remove my topbox key off the main bike keyring to see if that helped..... went out on the bike yesterday and no re-occurrence of the EWS message, so maybe the topbox key was affecting the antenna ?  Time will tell.

Start up Issue

Hi, I've noticed an intermittent problem with my 2005 1200RT  Probably happens about 1 in 20 start cycles. I turn the key to the on position, and the yellow triangle appears with the EWS display on the dash. The bike won't turn over, if I switch off/on again it usually clears it. It's only ...

Did a trip round Arran last year as part of a 12 day tour including the NW 500. Lovely place :-)

Re: Front engine cover removal

Hi, thanks for the info.. I had read those threads, also a few others. I'm comfortable with my ability to put it back correctly, I'll also renew the oil seal. Doing it in situ looks like a half job, I've already got the bike bodywork all stripped off and got it up on my lift table for all my winter ...

Front engine cover removal

I'm going to remove the front engine cover of my 2005 RT and get it powder coated, as the paint has flaked off and it's all corroded.  Any top tips for getting it off ? I can see that I need to remove the alternator pulley and about 16 perimeter bolts, I've removed the black square plastic ...

Heated Seats

Hi, anyone been inside the heated seats on their R1200 ??  I have a 2005 RT with heated seats, and I'm thinking of getting both re-worked by Tony Archer, who's done a great job for me on my past three bikes. Just wondering if the heating element can be easily added to a new gel insert or ne...

Re: Spare Key Cutting

I bought some cheap blank keys of eBay on the recommendation of someone on this site, then took them to my local Timpsons and they cut them just fine in about 5 minutes.
