For a multi use option, consider the LazyRider bag. Waterproof, access from either side, easy on, easy off as needed, great backrest with adjustable lumbar support ! I’ve used this bag on 4 diff bikes...

Re: Bluetooth Headset

I have the Cardo Packtalk....works perfectly as long as you don't speak too loud into mic and you use proper English...I'm from the southern US and proper English was not taught in shcool :)It is waterproof and the Sena is not...just water "resistant".
Good luck,ts

Re: Corbin Seat w/ Smuggler set up for a 2009 R1200RT - screw up!

Well, I dug into the seat today after a trip to a friend down the road that does upholstery work....He is a one man shop and is recovering from shoulder surgery, so the job was mine. He primarily does marine upholstery work and has good materials and advice.
Started by drilling out rivets and ...

Re: Corbin Seat w/ Smuggler set up for a 2009 R1200RT - screw up!

My luck has changed!
It fit perfect. It is a shade darker than my silver bike, but that can be fixed easily.

I see why people say negative comments about the Corbin seats........This seat is as hard as a rock. A trip to the upholstery shop is going to cure that.

I really like the “trunk ...

Corbin Seat w/ Smuggler set up for a 2009 R1200RT - screw up!

In an effort to correct the uncomfortable stock seat, I made a "seat of the pants" bad decision I THINK.
After researching several seats, I really liked the Corbin Smuggler setup: http://corbin.com/bmw/bmwrt14smug.shtml. However, I wasn't willing to part with $1500.
I found a used one for $375 with ...

Re: 2009 R1200RT Riding comfort issues

I did try that....problem is that I'm 58 and my nuts hang to my knee's. That would require a major adjustment each time I saddled up and you cannot always do so in public :) ...I'm trying to stretch my hip flexors twice daily and it's getting better.
Thanks for all of your input!

Re: 2009 R1200RT Riding comfort issues

Thank you for all of the suggestions.
The bike came with the Illium handle bar riser. It also moves the bars back about .75".
I'm going to remove the riser and ride along with a seat pad to see if that corrects the issue. Seems that would logically create the comfortable riding position I find when ...

2009 R1200RT Riding comfort issues

New to me 2009 R1200RT.I love the bike, but after sometime in the seat I get some pain in my hip flexors....I have tried the following:

Purchased the Illium foot rests...this did lower my feet by 1.75 inches, but it also spread my legs further apart which increased the issue. I put the stock pegs ...
