Re: New to R1250 fourm, what did I do today?
Btw, scrolled through the paging on the Nav vi, what a wealth of information there is on the "my Bike" That is all customisable as well. So for instance I have mine as the top row showing Distance, Time and ETA of the next waypoint and the second row showing the same info for final destin...

Re: Trickle charging
What other functions does it have that don't work through the Canbus? Ive only ever one for trickle charging over the winter, never had a problem through the accessory socket. I believe that every so often they put a load on the battery to partially discharge it then recharge it which reduces the b...

Re: Trickle charging
I would recommend plugging a pigtail directly into the battery and using the charger in standard mode. Charging via CanBus for example via an Opitmate you are only using a fraction of the feature on the charger. That's why I use a BMW charger, it talks to the bike and the two work together to keep ...

Re: Trickle charging
I just purchased a 2013 R1200RT. This replaced my 1996 R1100RT. Since I only use the bike on weekends I keep the battery charged by using a Battery Tender. I plug it into the accessory port. On the old r1100 it worked great. On my 2013 r1200rt it starts to flash red after a short time which means i...

Re: Headlight Protector
I got one as well a little while ago. Whilst washing the bike noticed a small chip on the headlight and figured better safe than sorry. I thought the white attachments looked OK on mine although mine were not Velcro, not sure of the correct name of what I got, I know it as pedal board tape. small pl...

Thanks David. Exactly what I am looking for. The cable or hole is not the issue but finding a gland. Like that you can also disconnect if you are taking box off.

You should get 400 Km per tank full but if you don't trust the fuel gauge err on the side of caution

Re: possible convert from ST1300
I don't use it often to be fair, it's handy for 'average speed cameras' though 😊 Yeah, that and through villages where there is a point to the speed limits. Also useful giving your hand a rest, I suffer from arthritis and RSI in my hands which gets bad if I dont stretch my hand regularly....

Re: possible convert from ST1300
The thing that struck me most comparing a 2017 RT and my 1250 was the hill assist, on the 1250 it is seamless to the point where I pretty much use it all the time, on the 1200 it was so jerky I had to release it manually

Re: CAPTCHA for posting messages
Or charge people a modest sum. UKGSER does £12 a year and well worth it. Also helps to additional mods to help share the burden. I've been involved in running a scuba forum in the past and we saw a massive drop off when we made it members only (not my choice) as unless people can see what they are ...

Re: CAPTCHA for posting messages
Its a while since I've seen the captcha on here but most have the option to read the text* which may make life easier. * Under European disability discrimination legislation all should have it so the blind or partially sighted people using screen readers can still access the sites; should not be a p...

Re: USB on the handlebars
Has anyone spliced into the RH accessory socket to run a USB connector near the handlebars? I thought about that but given the hassle you sometimes get with any change to the cambus I bottled it. Instead I got a small tank bag, which I was thinking about getting anyway, then bought a short Hella to...
