Re: 4 wheel drivers when filtering.

This is my take on filtering too - I try not to get annoyed with, or react to, thoughtless or awkward behaviour on the part of drivers, and try to acknowledge the ones who make things easier for me. Looking back over the years my experience has been that the majority of drivers move over to let you...

Re: Varifocal glasses

I wear varifocal glasses, but on the bike I find (daily disposable) contact lenses much more convenient.  More comfort, no misting, no fear of dropping them when putting on or taking off the helmet. My prescription is the same for each eye, so I was given a "distance" lens for my...

Re: Brand new 1200RT - won’t engage 3rd when warm

Not sure if this is any help but for what is worth. My 1200 GS WC developed a problem with the clutch before it was a year old. When cold the biting point of the lever was very inconsistent, it deteriorated to the point where I couldn't engage first gear until it was warm. Got stuck in the middle of...

Varifocal glasses

Question for all the varifocal/ bifocal wearers. Has anybody else had problems with the RT mirrors and varifocal glasses? I struggled with mine, the mirrors are low enough to be in the reading portion of the lenses. A quick glance down just gave me a blurred view of what was behind, moving my head ...

Re: Service reminder

Sorry, didn't realise there had been a problem previously. Mine came off the GS and changed the info over without me having to do anything. Correct VIN, mileage etc.

Re: Rear Seat for 2014 -19 RT WTB

Just realised that the seller is James Sherlock, a well established company in the UK.
It mentions on the website that they ship world wide, it might be worth going through their website if you haven't already.

Re: Service reminder

The service date and mileage comes up on the Nav V (and presume Nav6) if you've got one. On the My Motorcycle page under status.

Re: bluetooth headset

I have the Sena SMH5 which seems to be at the budget end of decent bluetooth comms. Basic features and ok reviews. https://www.motorcycleintercoms.net/sena-smh5d-02-bluetooth-headset-intercom-full-face-helmet-review/ Comes in at under a 100 quid at Infinity Motorcycles and possibly cheaper if you sh...

Blimey, 900 quid. How many trips to Exmouth did it take to get the measurements/ final fit?

Re: Leathers

Just bought the Rokker jeans. They are dear but if you read the blurb they are very technical. Very impressed with the fit and quality and they are Swiss made. Youtube vid is good. What are they like on the bike? My enduroguard trousers are quite "slippery" on the seat, a little bit of br...

Leathers

Got my leathers trousers out from under the stairs yesterday which I haven't worn for the 3 year odd years of GS ownership. Now Ive got an RT again I thought go back to the textile jacket and leather trousers combination. It was surprising how much difference it made to the ride, felt more planted/c...

Like the look of that, makes the white option seem a lot more attractive.

Puncture repair kit

My puncture repair kit (the one with rubberised string plugs) is getting on for 7 years old now so I'm going to replace it. I'm not sure how long these plugs stay pliable and effective. I've never had to use it so I'm not sure how easy it is to fix a puncture or however effective it would be. Lookin...
