Re: Phone Mounting Options - Please Help
I have a Ram ball mount on the yoke together with a ball mount case, all bought from Nippy Normans. I also have a Ram Spider phone mount for sale as well.

Re: Drawbacks of using Google Maps for navigation
TBH I haven't used it a huge amount as it's only really there as a back-up and to be aware who's calling me, and receive emails/txts, so I probably can't fully answer your question but hopefully someone more knowledgeable than myself will join in. Has your ipad any facility to access mobile internet...

Re: Drawbacks of using Google Maps for navigation
I have a Ram mount phone holder fitted to the handlebar yoke for my iphone 7 plus, one of their larger models, for use as a back-up satnav. Although I've only used it occasionally and it works well I find the necessity to move my eyes down to check out the display very awkward and quite dangerous a...

Re: Difficulty getting sidestand up
I have the Ilium side stand extender on my LC, makes it so much easier to get the side stand up/down.

I assume that you don't have access to a GS-911? That would certainly give you a direction.

Re: Nav 6, R1200RT 2018, My Motorcycle app not showing.
Just to add a bit more confusion - My 2018 had it on a Nav 5, then it disappeared for whatever reason, then co-incidentally I got a different Nav 5 and the bike went in to the dealers to have the SOS reset or whatever and it came out with the 'My Bike' app working. Am I any the more informed? Not re...

Re: Moving from 2013 Yamaha FJR1300A to BMW RT
That's interesting David, I seem to remember reading somewhere that the average annual mileage for a bike was around half of that at 3,000 miles.
I'm sure that must be indicative of something...

Re: From RS to RT
Good find Nick, I've recently changed across to a 2018 from a Pan... No regrets. Has it got all the 'necessary' add-ons?
Fender extender/ Garmin Nav/driving lights.. etc., etc., etc.

Re: Opinions re GPR slip on exhaust cans?
I suspect that those who are likely to fit an aftermarket can would probably choose either Remus or the BMW approved Akrapovic tbh. I’ve had non-stock cans on other bikes but always removed them after a while, as long distance touring and loud exhausts are a formula for a roaring headache! I haven’t...

Re: Which Sat. Nav. have you got & why?
I've used Tomtom since they first came out with a Rider 1 version for bikes and have incrementally moved up into the 400 series. Totally waterproof, easy to use and logical in their set up. However it was fitted and hard wired to the Honda ST13 that I part-exed with my current 1200RT LC, so I now ha...

Nav5 - Problems
I’ve done searches on here, some seem relevant-ish so I apologise in advance if it’s a dumb question. I bought the 2018 about 4 months ago but have only recently been able to get out and about on it. I also acquired a Nav5 recently and tried to work out the integration between bike and sat nav, at o...

The bike’s booked in for the 16th April to hopefully sort it out.
I’ll update when they’re done.

Re: 2013 or 2014 RT?
Initially I felt that the wethead looked a bit nose-heavy when it was launched in 2014, but either I've got used to it or it's grown on me (like warts?) as I now think it's a good looking bike... enough that I bought one anyway!

Re: Radiator guards - RT LC
Thanks for your response. I bought a set of the R&G rad guards on the basis that they’re not ridiculously pricey, weigh nothing and may save me grief one day. I’ve always held a view with motorbikes of ‘What can go wrong will go wrong, at the worse possible time’. ...and now having come to fit t...
