Re: What did you do today?

Washed the RT yesterday…. 3 hrs or almost, I know I’ve said it before but I hate washing this bike!. I’m at the point of using snow foam and a pressure washer  . What system do you guys use when washing ?. If it’s really manky after rain/dirty roads then it’s snow foam and a very careful, lo...

Re: Windscreen comparisons...

I bought a Werks Quiet Ride Screen 2nd hand, having tried several others including the BM Sports screen and Puig’s offering. Since fitting it I’ve not bothered trying anything else, it’s entirely successful in all seasons, weathers, and conditions, whether you pooling around in traffic or riding qui...

Re: New BMW RT1250 Owner

Just to show you’re not alone, this is a post from June last year when we were talking about crash helmet fit. Warning: Anyone born after 1960 can ignore this post! It was Dan Dare’s arch enemy The Mekon… from naturally enough Mekonta, or Venus, depending on which Wikipedia entry takes your fancy! :...

Green Mekon… hmmmm, you have to be ‘of a certain age’ to know of such things.

Welcome anyway 👍

Re: Side roundel running lights / indicators

I bought a set from motorworks Fitting is fairly easy if you follow the instructions! I never 😂 I didn't like the idea of drilling holes in the side panel behind the emblem for the wiring so I ended up removing all the silver trim and feeding the wiring through there and through a hole already in t...

Re: Scotland bound!

Did you see any wild Haggis? When my children were young I had them persuaded that haggis were dog-sized creatures that lived high on Scottish mountains, and to deal with the inclines they had legs on one side longer than the other, so the males ran clockwise around the mountain withe females antic...

Re: Side roundel running lights / indicators

I’m looking at them at the moment.

Motorworks and Sportouring do them around the same price bracket, approx £120, with a possibility of Amazon and Aliexpress cheaper.

Re: Your Motorcycling Training/History Etc.

Interestingly, I was speaking to a Police motorcycle rider yesterday and his approach was the same as above. When under training, in a national speed limit, (without taking the pi$$), exceeding 60 mph seemed acceptable, especially when overtaking. Yeah, right. From personal knowledge I can pr...

Dash cam legality in the EU

I was looking on the internet yesterday for any new regulations that may affect our upcoming annual pilgrimage to Greece in 2 weeks time, and came across this - Dash Cam Legality in EU (2025 Updated) Latest Update: February 12, 2025 DDPAI Dash cam laws in the European Union vary significantly by cou...

Re: Undo the auto lock for Gas Cap

As an iteresting side note my dealer warned me about using a metal tank bag ring around the filler cap. He said there are a lot of electronics going on in the cap and the ring can create interference with it that ultimately leads to failure. In therory that kind of makes sense, power & a metal ...

Re: CarPlay Lite C5 Motorcycle GPS Wireless Carplay/Android review

So many of these BMW car play/phone mirror units are designed around the GS/A with a BMW navigation mount that isn’t nestled in a nacelle that is particular to the RT. Are there any other fittings in the box? You may be able to get an adapter off EBay that will act as a spacer to move it away from t...
