Re: Mexico: R1200RT vs old Honda ST1300
Ouch! And a pig to pick up from that angle.
The RT is good for touring and some 100lbs lighter than the ST, but more importantly for my wife it has ample pillion room. I think you’re probably right about the power though, I’d have lost my licence by now on the VFR…

All getting a bit close now isn’t it?
Mine’s going in next Tues for a small service and new tyres before we head off at silly o’clock on the 28th.
I think I’d pass this one on to a professional Rob… best of luck with the fault and MOT.

Re: Mexico: R1200RT vs old Honda ST1300
Sounds a great trip, well done! I had an ST for 11 years but the heat thrown onto the rider was one of the principal reasons I’m on an RT, it must have been particularly bad for you in Mexico? I far preferred the V4 Honda engine, but the Pan 1300 was technologically outdated pretty soon after it’s l...

Re: Airhawk vs Cool Covers Seat Covers
Thank you
You’ve reminded me to try and find my Coolcover for my trip, I know where it should be… which isn’t necessarily the same as I know where it is!

Booked our travel ins with Nationwide Flexplus, cheaper than last year because they’ve changed insurance provider from UK Ins to Aviva, who don’t charge extra for being an old fart and charge less for medical history. There is also no restrictions on motorcycle use, only that you have a licence for ...

Re: Klim Latitude and Altitude Jackets
Did you get the Latitudes, and if so how have they been?
I’ve been looking at something similar for the occasional colder trip between 2-7c, any warmer and I’ll wear my Klim Marrakesh, and under 2c I’ll take the car!
If anyone else has the Klim Latitudes can you write a few words pls?

But i'm not happy with the movement still when sitting on the cool cover. I really like the Tribo seat cover and wish t...

Today we went up to Hideout Leather at Ashdon in Essex to get my leather (racing?) jeans sized down to fit me after shedding a bit of blubber! Horrible 2.5hr mostly-motorway drive up there with a lovely few miles of twisty C roads near the end. Hideout is aptly named, it’s a repurposed block of stab...
